Hello All:

Allow me to introduce my cats. Maggie is the eldest of my "children", she is 5 years old. We adopted her from a shelter when we lived in Savannah, GA. Now we live in Idaho so she has come a long way! She has the sweetest disposition. She has put up with us moving across the country & adding 2 dogs and another cat to our family & she takes it all in stride. She is very affectionate & one of my favorite sounds in the world is the sound of her purring.

Nita is the second youngest of my "children". He is coming up on 2 years old. We rescued him from the bottom of a 2 1/2 foot pipe under our neighbor's trailer when he was just a tiny kitten. In fact, he was so small that we thought he was a "she" - even the vet thought so! Imagine my surprise 6 months later when I saw him bathing a very male part of his anatomy! The vet was confused too when we scheduled him to be neutered because they had him listed as a "she"! Nita is more standoffish. Doesn't like to be held, but follows me all around the house. He does like to sit on me at night when I'm in bed & purrs up a storm while I'm petting him. He likes to wrestle with Roxy- our small dog & likes to tease Kali, our German Shepherd. He is quite the character!

I'm looking forward to being a member of this forum.

Welcome to TCS, Idaho! Congrats on rescuing those lovely cats. I love it when the dogs & cats in a home are one big family!!!You do a great job of introducing their personalities - it would make a cute book. By the way, what prompted the move to Idaho? Besides the mountains, of course (I'm from the Eastern Sierra - gotta have mountains, else I get heartsick)..Susan

Hi, idahomtns, I'm david p and I live in Pittsburgh, Pa. As it says in my signature, I'm a cat butler to Nikki, a 4 y.o. tuxedo kitty,(she's laying beside me as I type this) and Daisy, a 2 y.o. tortoiseshell kitty. I volunteer with Cat Sense, a cat rescue organization in Pittsburgh. I adopted Nikki from there and I became a volunteer. Shortly after after that, Daisy came up for adoption and I couldn't resist, so I adopted her, too! These two are my life because I am single.
