Today I went to the zoo to practice with my new camera some more. I figured it would be a good day since it's Monday and was overcast all day. I was right...there was hardly anyone there at all! I loved it! Here are some pictures from today.

Here kitty kitty kitty.....(funny that doesn't work too well with the big cats)

I just loved this little guy! He was a type of a duck (not a goose this time) but I'm not sure what kind. He was very colorful.

This is one of my favorite pictures. This is a guenon monkey.

A beautiful blue McCaw.

This is a Meerkat. He was very friendly and even began chattering to me when I talked to him. He then began to follow me while I was walking around the outside of the exhibit. I guess he liked me.

This is a Siamang Gibbon. To me, it looks like a little old lady sitting on a rock.

Here is another Siamang Gibbon swinging in the trees.

More excellent shots from that camera of yours. I like the blue McCaw. Nice color. Can't miss those two big kitties at the beginning though.

Thanks. There was also a Cougar which I wanted to get a picture of...but he was napping next to a log. When I called to him...he just kinda lazily lifted his head...gave me that "annoyed" look that cats are so good at...and then went back to sleep.

The reason that some of the pictures are a different color is because I was experimenting with some functions on my camera. One is shooting in RAW mode where the camera doesn't adjust for anything....it just takes in ALL the information and then you have to adjust the exposure in Photoshop. The clearer pictures were taken in RAW and I really like them better than the ones using the auto focus and auto exposure.

For example...the Bengal Tiger was taken in RAW and the Cheetah was taken using all the automatic settings. Big difference in my opinion!

Animal weddings maybe!
I like shooting animals instead of people.

I love your pictures! The 'little old lady' looks tired.

having taken many zoo pictures myself, I have to ask... where are the bars?

These pictures are so unobstructed, it looks as if you were in the cage with the beasts?

if so, can you put a good word in for me with the zoo management? ;-)

Loving my beautiful baby girl
You're a fabulous photographer, Robin!
Thank you for our fun trip to the zoo! All of the photos are wonderful, and I find the colorings of the Blue McCaw and the duck to be just spectacular!

Robin, these pictures are so crisp and clear and such great close-ups.

My favorite animal in the world is the Tiger. What a perfect shot you have of him. I saved it to use as my desktop, thanks.

I want to get a digital camera myself, and will definately look into the one you bought. I'm assuming it has a zoom-in lens?

Great job!

P.S.: I like taking animal pictures better too!

You could do mine! You wouldn't mind flying out to Hawaii, would you? Think of the great beach pictures you could get!
