Whenever I come home from work, I can hear Eponine meowing before I even get the door open. Once I'm through the door, she will roll around on her back, back and forth, back and forth, while I'm putting down my purse and bags, as if to say, "See what a pretty girl I still am?"
I then I have to grab her under her front legs (armpits?) and say "Big stretch" while she gets up on her hind legs and stretches out (I think she is always curled up and napping right before I get home). That is followed by 2-3 mintues of belly scratching and petting.
It is so sweet when our pets are excited to see us return to them. How do your kitties greet you when you come home?

Awwww Amy thats so sweet that Eponine does that when she sees you

Because i have my house alarmed downstairs, Rosie and Sophie have to be kept in the spare bedroom while i'm at work, but the minute i switch the alarm off i can hear them jump down from the bed and i can hear Sophie crying at the door.

Before i even take my coat off i go straight up to let them out, then it's headbutts and purrs all round

My DH gets home before I do, so I'm not sure how she greets him. However, when I open the door and she hears my voice she comes running. If she's been napping, she stretches and saunters over. I pick her up and put her on my shoulder, which she loves. We "talk" for a minute and then I let her on her way. Sometimes she likes to sit with me and cuddle; other times she's off to find a new adventure around the apartment.

I knew this would be an interesting thread; it's funny how different cats have different greeting methods. Susan, I'm surprised that it's Sophie, not Rosie, that gives the vocal "Hullo mum." I bet they are so cute head butting though

Epinone is so cute Amy!!

Usually when I get home and open the door Waffle will either be standing right behind it looking at me or will be running to it! Then, I shove my foot at her to get her away from the door (I had a cat run out last year and never be found so I'm a bit paranoid
) and she will then run right in front of me, stopping to turn around and make sure I'm still on my way the whole way into my bedroom. If I have stopped somewhere else she'll stand there for a moment like "I'm waiting....." and then give me a MEOW to let me know I'm taking too long. It makes me feel special.

That meow is "Welcome home mommy! I need someone to love on! You've been gone far too long!!!"

That's odd.. of the 5 cats I've lived with in my life, only one ever bumped heads as a greeting, and she was the mildly insane one who wanted to be held, but didn't want to be touched (one of my mom's). I kind of wish my kittens would.

Godzilla sits right on the sofa by the door and watches as I come in, then start purring and meowing/whining for attention. Mea might say hello, or may not even bother to come out and look to see what the noise is until she hears the pop-top on her can of food, then I'm her favorite person in the whole world.

At her advanced age, Abbie doesn't greet me anymore...I have to turn on lights before she even knows I'm home. After that, I get a "one open eye" greeting, maybe a meow.

When I had the five kittens over the summer, I'd walk in the door, and it would go something like this:

"...no! no! get away from the door Ernie
...ow!...Daisy, get your claws out of my butt
...where's Pip?...Pip! get back in here!...Ernie!!! Get away from the door....ow!...ow!...Boo, Romeo!!!...no climbing my legs, I'm wearing shorts!
...

All that before I could even get the door shut!

When I had feral kittens last fall, they scattered like roaches when I would come in. I had to "talk them down" every day! Then they'd be all over me!

Loving my beautiful baby girl
What precious descriptions!
When I arrive home from work, nomatter how my shift has been or what's on my mind, my baby girl brightens my entire world!
She loves on my legs while I put down my bag, then arches up to my hand while I rub her a couple of times. I then pick her up and she puts her sweet little head on my shoulder and purrs in my ear while I rub her head and under her collar and give her kissess on her cheek.

It is so cute reading how kitties greet the people the own

Stephanie, I always love reading your posts because I do not think there is anyone else who can describe their relationship with their kitty as lovingly as you do- it is always so very obvious that you and Sierra share the most incredible relationship!
