Hubby was in a car accident.

I got up with hubby this morning and chatted a little and then went back to bed while he did PT. At 6:15 he calls to tell me he was t-boned by his bct. He told me he wasn't injured but his car was totaled.

So I get out of bed, get him some coffee (lord knows he is grumpy without it when he's had a good morning) and head down to where the accident is... thing that gets me is I get him coffee and forget my eye glasses...

So I get there (half the roads are closed at 630 because of PT runners but the MPS knew I was on my way so I got special assistance lol) and I see the other car first... WOW.

David had been driving down the road to his work and this SUV sped through the stop sign and hit my hunny on the passenger side of the car. There were a lot of soldiers around to wittness the accident and I was told that the other guy hit David with such force BOTH autos spun around and hit again in the rears of the cars! The honda was a mess. When I got there David was finishing paperwork and the other man had already been taken to the hospital. I later found that he broke his thumb and smashed his face in the air bag and cut his lip. The gent also knows it was on his fault. He got out of his truck to check on my hub and to apologise. He is new to the post and to his credit the roads here ARE confusing.

Good thing we got my car in January. We would really be SOL.
Anyway long story short my hunny is okay and that is what matters. Our car is trashed and honestly I hated the honday anyway.

I don't think I've ever gotten out of bed so fast. Nor embarassed myself so much showing up during PT hours in my pajamas while a bunch of men are doing sit ups and running....
It was interesting to watch all the faces of the guys as they ran by. I could see them mouth "oh man" and "oh s***" among other profanities.

I need a nap.

oh! how rough! at least you get the cost of the car covered
Just watch hubby to make sure he's not going to have any underlying damages... a lot of accidents -they don't feel hurt until after all that adrenaline is out of their system..

*hugs*

What a way to start the day..

I did my best to try to talk Hub into going to the ER but he didn't want to miss this class he has to take. I told him that if he is even just a little sore tonight I am taking him to the drs. He has a cut on his back and his hand but he's stubborn... We have to go take some pictures this afternoon of the damage and send them to our ins agent.

I'm sure he's going to be sore tonight... I'm sore just from him telling me and getting upset about it lol.

You get an A+ from me for being such a good wife! Running out there in your PJ's WITH coffee.

Please do encourage him to go in and be seen by a doctor. DH and I were in an accident a couple of weeks ago - I felt fine that night, but was really hurting the next day. If nothing else but for insurance purposes, you'll want documentation from a doctor regarding any injuries (or some that may come along in a few days/weeks). Glad to hear that they are both okay!

Hub just called and he's too sore to sit in class. I'm going to take him to his dr at 930. If anything they will give him to knock that pain out and hopefully make him sleep well.

that's great that he's ok and that the other party isn't seriously injured. I hope you get enough money from the insurance to get a car you really like

Glad to hear hubby called to have to take him to the hospital. Definitely no way to start your week.

I couldn't help wonder when you said hubby was hit by a SUV, because my cousin (the 6'8" Lt. ) is down there. But he's been there for a couple of years...

How lucky your husband is!!! He should be thankful he wasnt killed! I was in a t-bone accident three years ago TODAY!! Only, I was t-boned on the drivers side of the car. I fractured my pelvis on both sides (left to right), had multiple bruises and contusions and had been stabbed in my stomach. I was told by an orthopedic doctor that it would be 2 weeks at least before I could even think about walking again...I certainly couldnt work. Understand, that I was 19 years old, and my Daddy is terminally ill, and I had been working since I was 16 to help my mama pay the mortgage and keep food on the table and make sure my little sister was doing what she was supposed to be doing. Not being able to work was the worse part for me. I went home the next morning...even though I could not walk, because I wanted to be home. I had to use the bathroom off the edge of the foot of a roll out sofa bed. My Daddy was taking care of me! I got sick of that, and begged him to get me a computer desk chair with wheels, so that I could move around a little on my own. He did, and I remember the pain to this day. I remember feeling the bones rubbing together when I moved. I refused the pain medication because I needed to be clearheaded to learn how to walk...and I would slide onto the computer chair, and pull myself through the house. I was only down for a week...and then I started walking on crutches. But I thank God everyday that that car hit me where I did. The officer told me less than a foot more forward, and I would have died. I will be thanking God tonight for getting your husband safely through such a terrible and frightening ordeal!!!

OMG Diane!! You are very lucky to have survived that crash.

I just got back from taking pictures for ins. reasons. The car doesn't appear to have a lot of damage but the frame has shifted so it will be totaled. The bummer is that the car was a 93 so we won't get much value on that.

And after just buying me a car... *sigh* I guess I'll be calling the hospital twice a day about that job now. If it isn't one thing its another.

Anyway. Hubby is doing okay. He is back at work. He has a muscle relaxer to take at night and some good ol' motrin 800. He also got a pain shot in the rump. He said that was the worst of the day so far.

oh OW! Beth! What a horrible morning and so stressful. I am so very glad your husband is ok...but watch that stuff - don't sign anything until you have an objective source look it over. But moreover, I hope you both are ok. It's a shock to his system and yours, too.
