This is the first time my 5 month old kitten has thrown up. I fed her about 2 Tablespoons of Nutro Naturals in the pouch (kitten food formula). She seemed to love it. Ate it up. Slept for about an hour and then got up and threw it up...the throw up looked identical to the food, like it hadn't even been chewed or anything. Now she's playing as before, but I wonder if I should worry? Has anyone else experienced this with this brand of food or another? should i avoid ALL Nutro brand foods from now on? because I was hoping to feed her that when she's older.
thanks.

That's what I fed my cat, and he never threw up afterwards.

Is this the first time you fed her Nutro? What was she eating before? It's possible that she had a hairball or something. That will often cause kitties to throw-up undigested food. If she ate too quickly, that two could cause some stomach upset. Also, if you just started feeding her Nutro, you will probably want to mix it in slowly with her other food, a little bit at a time. Some kitties have sensitive stomachs and mixing food over the course of a week or so can help them adapt.

Elevate her food bowl, this stops the kitten from gulping food. When they gulp they don't chew and they swallow air causing digestive upset.

well i didn't notice a hairball in there...she's never coughed up one of those either!!!
she did eat it rather quickly. i just gave about 2 tablespoons and don't think it was because it didn't agree with her. her stomach is actually not sensitive at al and she takes food changes pretty well.
i am not sure if i should try to give her more of the nutro pouch later on? maybe tomorrow? it seems like good food and i have the rest of the pouch in the fridge?
she seemed to love the flavour though.

but elevating the food bowl sounds like a good idea. will do that.

as for mashing the food. i think it's better for her teeth if she chews it rather than to get it as a pate, and usually when i give other chunky canned food, it takes her much longer to eat it because i think then she's chewing it. weird.
