Today was just beautiful here....sunny and 62. My daughter and I decided to head out to one of the state park areas and take some pictures, get some exercise, and enjoy the day. (some of you may remember KatzLuver as my daughter Nikki) I let her take my old camera and she took quite a few pictures too. These pictures are some of the ones I took with my new camera. I was a little disappointed, however, that I didn't get many really good shots. But I thought I'd share some of the signs of Spring that I saw today.

Not sure what kind of bird this is.....maybe a sparrow?

A duck enjoying the sunshine on the lake.

Nikki trying to take a picture of me while I was taking a picture of her!

One of the park workers showing everbody the spotted owl. This owl was rescued because he was injured and can no longer fly. He is kept in captivity to protect him from predators and to help teach people about owls.

Whooooooo are you talking to?

A Robin hopping around in the grass. I'm not sure why this picture looks "odd" to me...but it does. It almost looks Photoshopped....but it's not. Maybe the focus is off. My eyes are so bad, even with contacts, that it's difficult for me to focus sometimes.

A turtle sunbathing on a log.

Is everyone ready for Spring now? I know I am!!

Feel free to post your signs of Spring pictures! Let's give everyone Spring Fever!

I think my picture of the duck is actually a goose.
I don't know my birds very well!

Does anyone know? Is it a goose or a duck?

Wow Robin, amazing photos as usual! I'm impressed!

As for that photo that looks "off" to you... it looks as though it's a soft focus around the bird... I can't actually see where the focus is. It's a very cool effect and strange that it only happened on that picture, where every other photo looks so crisp, I feel as if I were there!

I would say it's goose... geese have longer necks and necks than ducks. I believe.

Well the focus was supposed to be on the bird....but it looks as if it focused more on the grass in front of the bird...and then fades out of focus on the bird's chest, face and then to blurry on the background grass. I don't know....it just came out weird.

Canada Goose. But they hang out in a lot of the same places as ducks, so confusion is possible!

I think ya'll are right. After I called it a duck....I looked at it again and thought.....that's not a duck!

I saw a gorgeous red cardinal today that I tried to get a picture of....but he flew away before I could get it.

In the pic you were wondering about, is that longer grass in the background? was there perhaps a gust of breeze just at the critical moment that introduced movement into the shot? Everything else about it is sharp and clear -- and lovely! Love the owl! They're all great shots, Robin, thanks for sharing.

That's a Canadian Goose!
We have too many here in Ontario so I'm glad they are flying around elsewhere.....too much bird poop!

It looks like you had a great day outside. I love the owl!

I don't have any spring pictures since I didn't buy my camera until late last summer. But, here is one of my favourite flower pics....the wonderful daisy!

Great picture Kass! I love daisies too. I actually only saw some yellow daffodils today but didn't take any pictures of them. I'm waiting for my tulips to come up to take pictures of them.

Funny that the Canadian Geese are vacationing in Tennessee.

I'm sure that wind may have been a factor. I was pretty far away and zooming in on the Robin.....because obviously it would have flown away if I got too close.

Yeah the Owl was neat. There were several people there listening to the park guy talk about the Owl. One lady piped up and said kinda nasty, "That really bothers me that you guys have that poor bird chained up and living in a cage." The park guy didn't miss a beat when he replied, "This owl was severely injured and can no longer fly. If he were set free, he'd be killed very quickly by animals such as coyotes and even your household dog."
