How many people here have a tradition of watching "The Quiet Man" on St. Patrick's Day? I know lots watch "Darby O'Gill and the Little People", too, but I was surprised to discover that lots of people I know watch "The Quiet Man". It's such a funny movie! It wouldn't be so funny if they made it now, because a lot of the humor is chauvanist, but given that it was made in a different time period I don't typically hold people to quite the current standard.
The best is the whole fact that they have John Wayne with his western drawl trying to act like he was Irish! Too funny! I don't think they meant that part to be funny, though.

I usually watch it and I suppose it's around St. Pat's Day because it would make sense that it's on around this time of year. . I'm not a John Wayne fan, but I like this movie.

I don't know why I don't see Brigadoon around St. Pat's Day. I did see on TCM last month, though
I guess I've had my fix for a year.
