I lost my beloved Bud on Jan. 9, 2005. It has taken me some time to post because my heart would break every time I thought about it.
Bud was my faithful companion for a short 11 years. He was brought to me as a 3 week old, abandoned by his mom and saved from a @#$$$ that thought he should just stomp on him and take him out. Luckily my friends were there and saved him and told the guy off! When I first had him home the other cats wouldn't take to him and he became attached to the dog. He even suckled on her! Bud had a pampered but tough start. He has already had his bought of Uninary track infection before 6 months. Needless to say he survived and turbed into a fat sassy cat. After many years of good health he developed fatty liver disease. He was even jauntice. The vet at one point even told me that I was tired and so was he but I refused to give up. I did IV's at home, force fed 4 times daily, and even had friends come in to help. The last weekend I was going to give him he started eating and recovered. My vet called him the miricle cat! A couple of years later he started dropping weight. I had every test in the book done and nothing showed up. I gave him depo shots (vet's advice) for the duration after. One morning he ate very well, and by afternoon he was having a hard time even keeping his head up. We cradled him in our laps that day, and I made the terrible on me decision that he was tired and need to be PTS. I spent the next mornig with him laying with me in bed until it was time to go. I was there until the end, and he even purred as we said our goodbyes. He is now buried at my cottage next to him brither and sister that had passed before him. He is now at the rainbow bridge waiting for me and his dad, whom he loved to snuggle with on his lap.
RIP sweet Bud! I miss you so bad!!

Darlin', I'm so sorry for the loss of your Bud! It sounds like he was a wonderful cat, and you were a wonderful meowmy to him. {{HUGS}} to you during this still difficult time, rest assured that it will get easier, with time, lots of time.

I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I had some magic words that would mke you feel better.
My comfort in losing a kitty is each time one goes to the Bridge, that leaves the possibility of a loving home for another one that desperately needs one. Of course you can never replace your beloved Buddy, but thare are a lot of sweet babies that can comfort you and fill the emptiness when you are ready.

Without you there beside him his life could have been shortened so many times, but each time he lived through your love and care. You must miss him and mourn him deeply, but you gave him a wonderful life and he is waiting for you.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved Bud. I know how hard it is to make that final decision but you did the right thing for him. He will be waiting for you at the bridge and someday you will be together again, nevermore to be parted. Hugs.

Loving my beautiful baby girl
Such a beautiful tribute to darling Bud. I'm so incredibly sorry you lost you precious baby. What a strong boy Bud has been, a true miracle baby with such an amazing, loving Mommy, and he loves you so very much. If only there was something to say or do that would ease your pain. Bud is so happy and healthy now in Heaven, and the two of you will be reunited some day. I pray that you will feel comfort to fill the emptiness in your broken heart. My heart truly goes out to you during your agonizing time of grief. As you already are aware, I am right here for you any time at all.

What a courageous cat your Bud was! And to purr at the end, giving his comfort to you & to let you know that he went on to a better place! He earned a very special reward I am sure. The fact that he survived so many harrowing experiences is a tribute to the will of a very special cat and the tremendous love & efforts of a very special meowmmy. We are all here for you at TCS, during these dark days, and KrazyKat2 is right, there are so many darling kitties out there, literally dying to fill the emptiness in your heart and home. Hugs & more hugs, Susan

Never be sorry to post long and loving tributes to your beloved Bud. You will always miss him but the painful memories will be eclipsed by the loving thoughts you will have.
His place in your heart will be there forever and his purr will always be with you.
take care
