I lost my beloved Bud on Jan. 9, 2005. It has taken me some time to post because my heart would break every time I thought about it.
Bud was my faithful companion for a short 11 years. He was brought to me as a 3 week old, abandoned by his mom and saved from a @#$$$ that thought he should just stomp on him and take him out. Luckily my friends were there and saved him and told the guy off! When I first had him home the other cats wouldn't take to him and he became attached to the dog. He even suckled on her! Bud had a pampered but tough start. He has already had his bought of Uninary track infection before 6 months. Needless to say he survived and turbed into a fat sassy cat. After many years of good health he developed fatty liver disease. He was even jauntice. The vet at one point even told me that I was tired and so was he but I refused to give up. I did IV's at home, force fed 4 times daily, and even had friends come in to help. The last weekend I was going to give him he started eating and recovered. My vet called him the miricle cat! A couple of years later he started dropping weight. I had every test in the book done and nothing showed up. I gave him depo shots (vet's advice) for the duration after. One morning he ate very well, and by afternoon he was having a hard time even keeping his head up. We cradled him in our laps that day, and I made the terrible on me decision that he was tired and need to be PTS. I spent the next mornig with him laying with me in bed until it was time to go. I was there until the end, and he even purred as we said our goodbyes. He is now buried at my cottage next to him brither and sister that had passed before him. He is now at the rainbow bridge waiting for me and his dad, whom he loved to snuggle with on his lap.
RIP sweet Bud! I miss you so bad!!
