I read it from cover to cover, a lot of my friends write articles for the magazine so I am always wanting to read their submissions.

We get it here in NZ but it is really expensive I have been known to grab a copy off the magazine rack and have a flick through. It looks good!

It is! How expensive? Its only $4.95 an issue here, and less if you subscibe.

I don't, and I have a few good reasons....

1. I get all the answers about cats right here on TCS, or just by Googling...

2. It seems that Cat Fancy is more for breeders or people with pure-bred cats. All 6 of my cats are cast-offs/strays/shelter kitties... not a one is pure-bred (although Dusty *acts* like she's pure-bred).

3. It's sorta expensive... I like to go to Barnes & Noble, get a big ol fat Mocha, grab a few mags & sit and read them 'for free'. I don't have that much free time but when it does happen, I usually hit B&N. Cat Fancy is one I like to browse through however like I said, it seems they deal with purebreds, not pound kitties.

Oooh I'm sitting right next to ya with my latte and those huge bridal magazines! Lol! I think I've bought Cat Fancy like once before but I did notice that they seemed geared for breeders/were mainly ads for breeders.

I believe it's about NZ$13.95, but we can get a NZ cat magazine for about NZ$5 that's why I only browse through cat fancy.

My dad subscribes, but it comes to my address, so depending how soon he picks up his mail, I get th read his.
He subscribed online and it was cheaper than sending in the card that comes with the magazine. I'd find the link for y'all, but right now I'm on my EXTREMELY SLOW Windows 95 Compaq Presario that has a habit of crashing
I'll look on Monday if no one posts it before that.

I have an overseas subscription, since "Cat Fancy" isn't available at newsstands here. I really enjoy the health and behavior articles, and wouldn't say it's mainly geared towards breeders, despite the breeders' ads and featured breed, because there are often articles about ferals, shelters, and the like, and a "cat rescue" feature in every issue. I have a subscription to a general, German-language cat magazine, and I find the advice given in "Cat Fancy" much more professional.

You should have check out last issue. It had a whole huge article about how to help shelter kitties.

I know how you feel...my kits are rescued, too.

I know there are valid reasons why you do what you do. It's just a personal preference for me.

You took the words right out of my mouth, completly.
