Hello! My cat Roxy throws up everyone once in a while, but I was assured by my vet that it was nothing out of the ordinary, but tonight I'm kind of worried! She has thrown up a number of times tonight ( many times nothing solid). It seems like she does it whenever she eats, or drinks any water. I've changed her food from something I buy at the vet (I can't remember the name, but it's something healthy) to Purina One: Special Care, Adult Cat: Sensitive Systems. She's been eating it for about a week, and I haven't seen any problems. Please note that when she vomits, she hides, but then comes out ready for attention, and seems like nothings wrong. Please help! I am very worried! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Since you said the vet doesn't find anything wrong, it may be hairball issue.
I learned that if cats throw up food, it's either they're eating too fast or they're adjusting to a new diet. It may also be they've chewed on something that doesn't agree with them (like grass).

Matt if she is vomiting numerous times, there could be a few reasons why. The food disagrees with her, you are feeding her to much food, she is gulping her food, swallowing most of it whole and taking in a lot of air in the process-causing stomach upset, or she is ill and you need to get her into a vet to rule out a health issue. Bloodwork would be in order to see how her levels are- She may have found something in your home she ate that is making her vomit.

If you have switched her to new food to quickly, that can cause vomiting, if she is allergic to something in the food, that can cause vomiting.

You want to be sure she stays hydrated. Cats dehydrate quickly when they lose fluids. If you lightly scruff her neck and release the skin should go down flat in seconds, it it stays tented up, get to a vet quickly do not hesitate, just go-

Try giving her some plain yogurt with active cultures to help settle her tummy, or if you have a pepcid you can give her 1/4 of a tablet (if she is a full-grown cat) Kittens get a little less depending on their age.

Try elevating her food bowl next time you feed, and call your vet in the morning to see if she can be seen-

Thanks for the quick reply. She just has surgery, removing a lump off of her back, about a month ago, in which she had blood work done, and they didn't find anything wrong.

She seems happy enough. She's still purring. Is this is good sign? Thanks again.

BTW, I just checked her neck, and it doesn't stay up. My girlfriend is on her way to the store for yogurt and pepcid right now. Should I only try one or both? Thanks again.

I would try the yogurt first- and just so you know cats do purr when they are in pain as well as when they are happy-

It's looking like the yogurt did the trick! She devoured it, and I haven't seen her throw it up yet. She even begged for some of her regular food afterwards! I'm hoping it was just a little ache. Thank you so much for all of your help! I really appreciate it! I will let you know if she's not feeling well in the morning. Thanks again!
