Howdy all,
I have two cats and they tend to toss litter all over the place, which sucks b/c the box is in the bathroom. They do it whether it's new or "old" litter.

I work in a wood/cabinetry shop and have tons of resources to build a box. Is there any plan out there you've seen that would give cats privacy and keep them from scattering litter all over the place?

Its nice that you want to build it yourself, but I don't know that wood would be such a good idea. Its porous and may hold odors and bacteria. -Just my guess. I'm no expert. I bought a litterbox very cheap in Wal-Mart that has a "lip" that clips onto the top of the litterbox. Its meant to hold the liner in place. I don't use a liner, but it tapers toward the inside and helps cut down on litter flying all over the floor. Good luck and WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!!

I'd love to hear the suggestions you get here. My two cat's litter box is in the bathroom too. There's nothing like getting litter stuck to your feet in the morning!

I know what you mean. It's like Oliver says to me "Mommy, there is WAY TOO MUCH litter in this box."

I would look at plastic, those big underbed bins work really well. You have to have a large area to put them in, but the litter seems to stay in the larger bins versus the regular size litter pans-

Thanks. Lol, I wasn't clear in what I was doing. I was only going to build the outer thingie out of wood, I was going to have a plastic pan (like the rubbermaid underbed thing) in it.

Thanks for the help!
