Susan, I know! It's like if my cell phone rings do I even answer the darn thing? I would rather have him leave a message!

I am just throwing ini all the good job vibes. If you do not get the job, all of us from TCS will have to visit this office asking for medical bills and punitive damages from our giving our selves ulcers out of stress and anziety,,,GOSH!

At the kitty's beck and call
Don't worry Eddie - the assistants still trying to calm them down after your fantastic interview. They just can't believe their luck at having YOU walk through the door.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the phone rings with the good news right NOW!

That should do it.

A 3 hour commute - eeeekkkk! I can't even imagine doing that every day - poor you.

Are they doing a background check on you? Sometimes that takes a while.

I am also waiting to hear the news about a job, I had two interviews this week and they are waiting on my background check.

Good Luck and I hope that you get it, if you do not hear from them today it is ok to call them and ask the update on your process.

Nope, no background check. That's usually done at the time of hire and W4 process. They've got 4 letters of recommendation and everyone wrote current phone numbers on them and all that. Well guys, it's 4:58 pm Friday and no news. <sigh>.

I'm just going to forget about it over the weekend and have fun! I have faith that they went with the person right for them and that it's just not the hand dealt to me right now. There are so many really good people out of work up here that I'm sure they found somebody to start right away with the same skill set I have. I remind myself I am lucky to even have job, ya know??

I'm sorry, I'm still going to hope there was a hiccup delay of some sort, and that Monday you'll have a nice surprise..or maybe an even better opportunity will arise, now that you are looking.

You should call them. Let them know that you are still interested in the position. Employers like it when you show the initiative and call them. Seriously.. I bent over backwards, and I got the job.

Elizabeth, don't give up hope! The job I have now (great people, a 2 mile commute, mostly enjoyable duties) I had actually gotten the "thanks but no thanks letter". I was their 3rd choice. The first person was there for 2 days and decided that she was above the position.
The second (very unexperienced, but cheap salary requirements) was totally overwhelmed, left for lunch and didn't come back. They called me and it fit perfectly!
Other places I had interivewed for didn't make the decision anywhere near when they said they would. Business emergency would come up and it would get put off.

Don't give up hope yet!

You guys are all so supportive and great.
oh how I wish I could just say, OK CALL TCS, CALL THEM, YOU'LL SEE! I'm not giving up hope, but I swear the thought of back to a 3 hr commute each day and a co-worker who sprays perfume 3 times a day, reads her email out loud, and talks to the back of my head with her shrill voice just does NOT seem appealing Monday morning.

It is disappointing not to have had word, and I would call them on Monday, if you don't hear early. As Dinah said, it lets them know you are truly interested, and also it gives you an opportunity -- should they tell you that they have hired someone else -- to invite them to keep you in mind if they have another opening.

Still pulling for you
