Hi guys!

Hey, I promise. After I get these animals all spayed and neutered I will be quiet for awhile !

Okay, so could someone please tell me what to do after I get these females back from the vet? Is it okay to let them go, or do I need to keep them in the carrier for a day or two?

If I catch that little wild one I know its going to be hard as heck to try to feed her if I keep her caged. There isnt any way she will give me a chance to get that food in the door before she comes flying out!

Also, most of you know my situation, but if I keep them caged they will have to stay out on the porch next door. I was thinking if I do that I could put some rugs and or tarps over them at night to keep them warm. The temps have been pretty decent in my part of TN this winter...Saturday, the nightime low will be 29 and Sunday it says 43.

What do you think?

Unless they have some other condition or responded poorly to the anesthesia, you only need to hold them overnight. Unless the weather is horrid (driving rain/sleet/snow, severe tmp drop/windchill, etc.) then keep them a day or two until the weather turns better.

My feral Pirate Pete had to have an eye removed (what was left of it). I kept him in my basement bath but I rigged 2 traps together to give him a bit of room. He never tried to get out and ate everything I gave him - which was good 'cuz it was laced with his antibiotic

Well, its now Saturday. I kept the newly spayed cats/kitten in their carriers IN THE HOUSE :-) overnight as the oldest one was still very groggy. The littlest one sat most of the night upright into her cage as if to say "what's happening"? She was so funny because the other two were simply out of it. We have two annoying dogs on the property and I wanted the cats to have a restful night. Early this morning they were all up and ready to go though.

Although the shelter said not to feed them for 24 hours (I dont know how you can regulate that since they are ferrals and they told me I didnt even need to cage them for the night), I just felt they seemed ready. It is a very pleasant 55 degrees here today.

The momma cat went into hiding, Crybaby sat in the feeding space and pigged out and the littlest kitten just has been loving up on me all day long, licking me and following me around like a magnet. The vet told me the momma was getting ready to have ANOTHER boat load of kittens :-(...makes me sad to think those little lives were destroyed but I know I have more then I can handle right now.

I still need to catch the "wild one" and my husband contacted his friend the sheriff here and he directed us to someone that might be able to come up with a trap. We have 2 more females besides her....AND I still am waiting for the newborn kittens (they are just over 3 wks now) to decide to venture out on their own from the underside of the trailer.

A NEW problem now. We had another female dog wonder onto the property a few days ago and my brother in law told me he was going to shoot it if it didnt leave. I have no doubt he would and so now I feel I need to find someone to come pick it up. I told my husband and he feels it belongs to someone in the area and has "other" ideas about running it off. If it is still here past the weekend I will need to find someone, somewhere to come get it. <sigh>

No, I simply brought them in! They were very quiet naturally and that helped in addition to the fact that he realized it was just a temporary situation.

Lets keep praying for him, okay?
