Hi everyone,
No, fortunately Eponine is not missing *knock on wood*(She's too chicken to run out the door when it opens).
BUT my client's Siamese boy, Jinji, ran outside last night and she has not seen him since. Her kids are worried sick b/c he has ALWAYS lived in their home since he was a baby.
A co-worker of mine suggested that my client take some of Jinji's used litter and make a trail outside leading to her house. I thought that sounded like a good idea. Can y'all think of anything else she can do to lure the cat back to her house?
Thanks in advance for any advice y'all can give

If the cat is not used to being outside, it is hiding somewhere close by, scared out of its wits.

They should check all the neighbors' yards - under bushes, decks, porches, etc. They should also ask all the neighbors to keep an eye out for the cat and to check their garages, sheds, etc. If they can photocopy of picture of the cat for the neighbors, that might help. Also check the storm drains -that's where my cat hid for a week.

Check the other threads about missing pets, they'll have other useful information. Also, Mary Anne has another website she often recommends: http://www.lost-pets.org/ It has suggestions on what to do/expect.

Guys, thank you SO MUCH for sending me those links. I really appreciate it
I have read the info on those sites and forwarded the information along to my client. I think I may go help her search for the kitty when I get off work (guess I'm an advocate to the core). Please send us some good vibes that we find Jinji and if you think of any other tips, please let me know!
Thanks everyone!!!

Woo! Congrats on the cat coming home for your client. Thats really great! I am so glad this story has a happy ending.
Suggest they also get him microchipped incase he gets out again and gets picked up.

Thanks Cirque
And fortunately, the kitty is microchipped, so even if animal control got him, the story probably would have had a happy ending!

Your client was fortunate, they don't always come back.
I would be sure he gets to the vet to be checked out in a few days, just to be safe.

I am thrilled she got her cat back!
