thanks sam. i owe you big time.
Sam talked me through it and answered my dumb questions.

you know i even phoned my vet and asked her if maverick could have had the kitten in secret and eaten it because she was 2days over due and her belly looked smaller!

you saved me (well my vet anyway) from lots of silly, anxious phone calls

You lucky thing, i envy you!.
i think its repeats. 6pm bbc2 i think. its on now downstairs, i can hear Rolf's dulcete tones from up here!

i wouldnt envy me, it was so stressful. i dont know how the breeders can do it.

felt so bad when she was having contractions, think i almost had sympathy pains! plus she just wanted to be held the whole time which made me well up even more.

i just hope its healthy and mavs ok. this will be her only litter and something i wont repeat again so i guess it was nice to have the experience.

must say, its put me off having kids of my own though...

Here are some ideas:
Girl:
Cami
Velvet
Spook
Belle Noir (Black Beauty in french)

Boy:
Raven
Phantom
Nittany
Spook
Panther

Or you could continue the "outlaw" theme you have going with Maverick

Hope they help

Congratulations. What a special bond you must have with Maverick that she would crawl on your lap to give birth. That is amazing but oh so beautiful! Me, I'd name that kitty STAR (bright and beautiful in the night sky). Give Maverick all our love and pets and whisper that we think she did a wonderful job.

i have to type quickly before Maverick come finds me! she seems to think we'r in this together and leaves the kitten with me when she goes eat/toilet and rounds me up when i leave the room.

i cant believe she had it on my lap either. shes such a mean little creature, at least i know she does like me a little bit! i'm worried about this kitten being an 'only child' because it might grow up as spoilt as Maverick!

keep the names coming, i might have to pull one out of a hat at this rate. its my turn to name this one so i want it to have a better name than Maverick - i've learnt to love it but i still cringe wen the vet calls it out or when making appointments.

i'n starting to miss tcs, i can only come on in 10min bursts or else Maverick gets anxious and comes to find me. i dread to think what she'll do when i have lectures.

i woke up this morning because she was making happy noises at her baby and then got into bed for her morning cuddle. she gets a bit anxious if she can here the front door open or occasionly when people come up the stairs and growls but all in all she seems quite content.

was a bit scared that people coming in to see the kitten would freak her out so have (tried) to ban family from room. she doesnt seem to mind unless its my little brother (who she inexplicably dislikes) then she'll growl and sit in the box guarding the kitten.

She will probably be a bit anxious for the first few days so it will be best to keep her as quiet and content as possible! Keep us posted.

Under the cats, mostly.
Sounds like a natural mum to me, that one. Some cats have a little bit of an iffy start and aren't too sure of what they're doing, but Mav seems to have nailed it! Not only that, but I think it's sweet that she loves and trusts you enough to crawl into your lap to give birth, but she also comes and looks for you to keep an eye on her kit when she's elsewhere. You're a priveleged lady!
