The other day at the local store I was looking around the different kitty treats. So I see this little brown bag and I was reading the cover. Its from a small company in Rutland Vermont!!!! I worked in that "city" for 2 years. Leave it to moving to TN to finally discover something from home.

Anyway I wanted to run the ingredients re: nutrition for Ms. Kitty. There is whole wheat flour, powdered milk, soy flour, molasses, wheat germ and organic catnip. I am to mix the mix with milk, some vegie oil and 2 eggs.

I know Meish loves my homemade whole wheat bread and the ingredients in these cat cookies are similar to my bread recipe. I know she'll eat the treats but are they bad for her. I'm assuming that since they are on the market they are okay. Nothing seems harmful but I'm not an expert.

The website of the comany that makes the Kitty cookies is www.annclark.com

They have people cookies too as well as dog cookies.
The bag of mix that I got comes with a little whale cookie cutter lol.

(I wasn't sure if this was health nutrition or social... its kind of both. Please move to where it fits best
)

Thanks.
It occured to me halfway thought posting that it might be for this section but I'm too lazy to retype it all.

(And... after waking up and having coffee... copy paste... duh)

I'm eager to find out if these treats are good for kitties too (and where I can order them!). I've been looking for "sweet" treats to give Eponine since she loves sweet stuff...

Well I made the treats for Meish. Poor hunny thought that I was making bread lol. He said "oh that smells good, are you making me bread" I said nope, cookies for the cat. LOL

Anyway. She loves the cookies. And she's quite odd right now from the cat nip. LOL

Ha ha, if my FI knew I was baking for the cat he'd pitch a fit! Glad Meish liked them though!

It depends on how you feel about the treats you give your kitty. I don't like giving my guys treats with sweeteners such as molasses, corn syrup etc., and I also do not like feeding them soy products, so for me, this treat would be out. That said, as an occasional treat, if your cat likes them, why not? For comparsion to other bake at home treats, here are the ingredients for Cloudstar's bake at home cat treats: Yellow corn meal, whole wheat flour, dehydrated cooked chicken, dehydrated poultry liver, dried egg whites, dried brewers yeast, lecithin.

Thanks P&A. I'll keep the treat to a minimum.
She loved the cat nip in the treat though!

I have got to run for the next few hours, but here is one site:cat treat recipes

One other thing to consider, Hissy would know for one, the TCS cookbook may have some cat treat recipes as well, I have my copy not yet printed out and just don't remember!
