A few days ago I recived a phone call from my oldest sister saying our mom had a heart attack. She told me not to worry since it was a mild one. Not to worry?!? How can I not worry. my mom just had a heart attack, and that right there would never cross my mind.
She is healthy and only around her late 40's I think if not early 50's. At the time of the call I was outside searching for Tabitha(my escape cat) and heard the phone ring and ring and thought nothing of it, but when it started again I went inside adn answered it. After the call I went back ouside and started crying. This is not suppose to happen to my mom. IM only 17, im too young to start thinking about losing my mom from this. As I was thinking and crying I boarded up the hole in the side of the house(tabitha was under there and refused to come out for hours).

I didnt hear nothing about my mom until 1 am. They flew her from this hospital to the next towns. Here they said she had blood clots, but at th eother hospital she came up clean. No wonder peopel never go to this place. They are always wronge.
Today she called me adn said she was ok and she will be there for two more days. So hopw can this happen to her. Maybe its in our family line. My Grandma does have a history of heartattcks and has that thing that shocks your heart back in to rythem after haven a heartattack.

I did get Tabitha back in the house. I have no clue how she got out. Im hoping she didnt find a male cat.

Poor Ashley. What a shock that must have been for you. I hope your mum's recovery continues to go well and that she will be home soon.

Perhaps it's a good time to talk with your mum and your sister to find out whether this is in your family line and how you can all make sure that you adopt a healthy lifestyle (unless you do already
) to minimise the risks for you and your mum in the future.

Sending lots of positive vibes for you and your mum so that you enjoy many, many more years with her

I know a bit about heart atacks. Most are genic but women have way differant symptoms then males. That is why females have more damage because the symptoms are so much differant. For example women tend to have pain across the back and feels like a pulled muscle where males tend to get arm pain. In fact some females talk about the pain being almost like PMS. But there is a silver lining , She now knows the symptoms and can react as needed. Chances are very good that this may be a 1 time deal and she will not die. Heart attcks are very treatable now a days. My dad has had at least 15 in 10 years but he is not smart enough to change his ways. Make sure she follows he doctors orders and I am sure she will be okay. My hopes and prayers go out to you and your family.

Oh Ashley, I'm so sorry for your mom and you and your family. The good news is that she was treated quickly and survived. Yes, she will have to make some lifestyle changes and perhaps need medication, but thank goodness there is medication to help her. Read all you can about heart disease, it will help you ease some of your fears and add to your knowledge, so you can help her and acquire some prevention tools for yourself. Go to WebMD.com, its a great site, that explains things in plain english. Don't be afraid to learn more, knowledge is power!

I'm sure your sister's news was frightening! But no one is ever ready to give up their mom, no matter what our age.

I called my mom today and was seeing how she was doing. They ran some tests where they make her herat beat hard. She said it hurt her bad and still does
. I felt bad on hearing that news. They also gave her something that made her heart slow down after that. I wonder what will come up in those tests but I hope nothing bad. I got a few of her things together last night along with a two notes saying I loved her and a Teddy Bear i got her for Valentine's Day. That made her feel better when she got them. I hope she comes home friday.

These are part of the battery of tests. They are normal and the reactions iof your mom are normal. I still wish you the best.

Ashley, I am so sorry about your mom! You're such a great daughter to care so deeply about her every welfare and send the cards and nice things. I grew up without a mother and sometimes I feel very shy around other people's moms because I don't know how to act! You probably are the type of person to make everyone feel at ease.
(((HUGS)) and I hope your mom gets better VERY soon - stronger!
Great that Tabitha came home~!
