Just admiring the many stories, pictures, and advice on this board and decided to join in the fun!! My name is Cj and I live in Illinois. I am the proud mommy of two Calico babies. Kali is 5 yrs old and Mittens is 6 months. I got Kali on Valentine's day 5 years ago from an ex-bf and although i got rid of him shortly after that......i took my baby kitty with me!!
She has been best thing that ever happened to me....besides meeting the love of my life 14 months ago, my boyfriend Dylan. He adores Kali and she is smitten with him as well
We decided that we wanted to add another furry friend to our family and adopted another calico just over a week ago. We named her Mittens because she is a polydactyl and has 'thumbs' so it looks like she has white mittens on her front paws
She is such a sweet cuddly kitty!! She has a rough start to life being taken from her mom and siblings at almost 5 weeks old and placed in a home with a dog who terrified and pestered her for two weeks until a kind mail carrier lady (who also fosters cats for a shelter) came along and rescued her. She is a special little kitty and has settled into our home very well. She suckles on my neck or hands when she gets sleepy...kitty breath spray to the rescue!! I adore her and i think she adores us as well. That's about it. My life pretty much revolves around my kitties...they are my babies :heart3:
