Way to go Heather McCartney!
Take a look at the horrible subject that she is bringing to light in hopes of stopping...

Ok I'm confused... Mccarthy says she's against the pet fur trade, but from the pictures it looks like she's showing them off. The bad thing is they look like rabbit, or mink furs, not dog or cat. I have never looked at me cat or dog and said "wow you have a great coat, I think I'd like to wear you" Cruella De Ville much???

Heather McCartney is very much for animal rights. I was sort of surprised when Sir Paul remarried so quickly after Linda's death, but I definitely approve of this woman for all she is doing for animals.

This is horrible, but it doesn't surprise me at all. For years there have been stories 'doing the rounds' about cat thieves, visiting an area and taking , say, all the ginger cats they can find, or all the black ones. At one time, it became quite the fashion to shave a stripe off your cat's back, so that the fur-thieves wouldn't want it. I heard of one area where about 20 cats, all the same colour, were taken over a few days.

I would definitely support any anti-fur campaign, although I have no problem with using the skins of animals that are killed for meat, as that means then that no part of the animal is wasted, and saves other resources. But to kill an animal, and only to use the fur, that is wasteful and disgusting. People who wear such fur deserve the abuse they get I reckon.

Besides, cat fur looks much better on the cat, don't you think?

If God wanted humans to wear cat fur, we would have been born with the ability to grow cat fur!

On the radio this morning, it was reported that each year over 2 million dogs and cats are killed for their fur. The worst offender involved in this is China. Korea is a culprit too. Please keep that in mind the next time you buy clothes, dishes, etc.

This seems to be a "labelling" issue.

If dog and cat fur is being sold as: mink, fox, rabbit etc - then the companies/individuals should be pursued for fraud and fined heavily.

Once it becomes properly labeled, i.e. "100% Dog fur" or "Genuine Household Cat" - they'll go out of business on their own. Outside of Cruella DeVille, who out there would REALLY want to buy dog or cat fur ?

Well we all know we wouldn't buy dog or cat fur, but there would be some numpty out there who would i bet, poss a cat/dog hater?!.

Have you seen these?

A friend bought it for me. He had good intentions, but I'm not into fur period. To make it worse, I saw a special on Dateline a couple of years ago that exposed the manufacturers. Aparrently some of these are made from cat and dog fur. A hidden camera caught a company on tape saying that they would leave the label off or label it rabbit. Mine has no label. The cats in the video were skinny and in dirty cages.

I saw those in Greece a couple of years ago!, and they came in different sizes

Oh geez, I'll never buy anything fur - fake or not! It's scary to know that the fur thingy they've labeled rabbit is actually cat or dog! Bans like this should go on a world-wide scale. I'm glad Mrs. McCartney took a huge step to increase awareness about something like this!

My mother always used to joke to our last cat that she would make a nice pair of earmuffs whenever she sassed back to us. I never thought that people out there acutally DID this!
