I'm pleased ours has gone
well, the unjustice of all that is that I work at a full service conference center--rooms and meals-so they feel perfectly justified keeping you here once you get here because they can house and feed you!!

But see, I have a kitty at home so staying here isn't an option!! They just dont get that!!

Yes, where is that big storm?? I kept hearing about this for the past few days. I am looking outside and it is just cloudy. We had a brief period of freezing rain and that was it. Well, there has been snow on the ground here for almost 4 months now, so I can't complain.

You can have some of ours as well! I just got home with a big bruise on my hip from falling down on icy snow downtown. It is exactly a year this week that I broke my arm slipping on ice, so I have been terrified of falling, and I hate driving on ice. But apart from nearly losing three tins of catfood that rolled across the street, I am fine. But PLEASE take some.

see, I wouldn't like snow if I felt like I had to DO anything in it
but that is the beauty of the Northern VA area...it snows, we shut down

Since most years we have snow from November to February shutting down is not an option! But I agree, looking at it is lovely, going out and having schedules to keep while it is snowing is awful.

Oh dear, does that mean Beryl had to go to school today? I think she was counting on the snow to keep her from work again!

We're waiting for the same snow storm. Its coming up from the southern states and dumping a lot of snow here. We're expecting 2-4" today, 4-7" tomorrow and then 3-5" on Wednesday.

Our corporate headquarters is in North Carolina. Thats where they make the decision to let us go home early. Now, if they have 1" of snow, the whole world comes crashing to a stop! I read last month where 1" of snow closed the schools and the school busses stopped running, stranding something like 30,000 kids in their schools. WE have to get over a FOOT of snow before they'll even give us a delayed opening! They claim we are more prepared to deal with it. Well, I'm sorry, but my car will slide in the snow and ice just as easily as their car and I can be just as hurt!

Hey, we're getting a flurry!

NO!! Beryl got the day off
the school districts had a preemptive strike against the whole thing...which basically means that she has had a morning to do whatever she wants since the roads have been virtually clear
she will probably get tomorrow too!

I thought I was going to get the day off too!! HARUMMPFFFFFF

At the kitty's beck and call
It's been snowing pretty much every day since last Monday here - but we have a really good lovely snowstorm and it melts as soon as it falls. So we've had all this snow and nothing on the ground to show for it.

But it was -7 last night, so hubby was out on the patio at midnight in his shorts covering the olive tree in a dustbin bag so it didn't get frostbite
. I swear, that man would wear shorts in Antarctica
