My cats absolutely love the shower. They want to be in the bathroom when I'm taking a shower and they sit on the ledge and wait for me to come out so they can lick the water off the bottom. Well my new cat Sam is an aggrivation to Frodo who has been with us for a little over a year. Sam also loves the shower and drinking the water out of the faucet. So now Frodo has to beat him to it. Sitting in the bottom of the shower he waits for Sam to stick his head over the ledge and with one paw held up over Sam's face, Frodo continues to lick the shower wall. It was absolutely hilarious I wish I had a picture of it.

The other thing is that my black cat Frodo wants to be white. His favorite thing to do is barry himself in my hamper with the whites in it. It's only that hamper, because I have a hamper for towels and colors...but he just likes the white hamper. No matter how many times I dig him out of there he always finds his way back to it where ever I put the hamper. He's crazy and cute!!! I love it!

What weird things do your cats do that you just love?

Hi Heather!

Well, it's cute when they watch TV.

Skinny, being my friendliest, sits and listens to conversations between me and my guests.

I love that your cat goes for the white clothes!!! I just love when my boys are sitting in my lap, or curled up with me, and they just gently reach their paw up to touch my cheek. Their way of showing affection to me I guess

KC will sit next to me on the couch because it has an arm rest/divider thing in the middle and paw me for attention so I will pet her. Other times on the bed for example she would turn away from me face and meow for attention as if to say sorry for bothering you, but would you PLEASE pet me. She also used to run upto my chair and stand on her hind legs and paw at my arm lightly so I would play with her. At the moment because of Buddy liking to torment her she does not do most of those things and instead comes to me when I sit on the couch and she sees my face from her hiding spot.

I'm trying to get Merlin to ask me to turn the bathroom tub faucet on for him to drink from. He knows that I know exactly what he wants me to do. And he gets so frustrated when I tell him "Do you want me to turn the water on? You have to ask me first".

Most days there isn't a problem, he meow's and that's that. But some days he just throws a hissy fit. He'll pull himself up so he's sitting perfectly straight. (Mind you, he's an enormous cat, so it's kind of intimidating.) Then he starts shifting his weight from foot to foot, and then he'll start snorting like a horse, and even sighs really loud. I'm waiting for him to burst out it with "Blast it woman! Turn the *blank* faucet on already!" (In a really amazing British accent, btw.) He gone for 20 minutes, sitting in the bathtub, doing this. And the more I laugh, the more mad he gets.

When it's dinner time at my house, Tenchi will crawl up on the top of the couch (atop the backrest) and lay there and wait and pray for me to give him people food.

Lately he has been pawing my back while he begs and it has turned into several back massage sessions where he kneads my shoulders and back.... I think he found my sweet spot for sharing a small bite of meal

When Bijou wants attention, especially if my back is to him, he will stand up on my leg with this paws on my thigh. Last night I didn't turn around to acknowledge his presence, so he literally climbed up my leg and my back. At 15 plus pounds I noticed it! I'm sooooo glad I keep his claws clipped!

My former roommate's cat Chilly was so funny. He used people was a human stepping stool. If one of us was standing in front of a closet, WATCH OUT! He'd jump onto your shoulder out of nowhere(which was scary since he weighs 18 pounds!) and then use that leverage to jump up onto the top closet shelf. I guess he was a pretty innovative kitty!

When Beazy was a kitten she would stare at you from across the room as if she was hynotizing you while she walked v-e-r-y slowly across the room. You could just hear her saying, "You don't see me. I am not here. I am not stalking you. You don't see me." It would take her ten minutes to cross ten feet! She'd end up right under your feet so that all you'd see was a twitching tail. Then she'd bat at your ankle and take off like a shot!

She's very sassy. She talks back when she's scolded. It becomes a contest of wills-- "Beazy, no!" "MEOW" "I said no" "meow" "NO." "mow" "no." which results in her just opening her mouth (to prove she hasn't lost) but not making any sound...

Buffy's a cat that doesn't like to be held in your arms: you have to let her go on your shoulder (which is her favorite perch). Sometimes when you're just standing in one place, brushing your hair or watching the TV, Buffy will leap up onto your shoulder from behind you, giving you a kick in the back. It can be scary at first, but you get used to it after a while and you eventually stop reacting. ANYWAY, if someone is holding her in their arms and she's shrieking at them and they ignore her, she'll eventually stare them straight in the eyes. My sister has determined that when they (Willow does this too, occationally), you have to avoid eye contact and put them back on the ground. If you don't put them down, and you look them in the eyes, they will give you a smack across the cheek. Fortunately neither of them has their claws extracted. It's just a smack with the pads of the paws (though sometimes they hit hard enough that you can hear the smack). Willow is intimidating enough that we never disobey her after a smack. She goes immediately back on the floor. But Buffy is just so cute and small that we tend to ignore her, and then she'll start biting at the air near your nose. It's pretty cute, but Buffy's breath can melt steel, so nobody really wants her open mouth anywhere near them. So down on the floor she goes!

Also, Buffy tilts her head when she's thinking of something. If you poke your finger around a corner of the house, and she sees, she'll tilt her head to the side and watch the finger, pause, and then run towards the finger. She'll stand up against the wall and place a paw on the finger, like she wants to see what it is (and her head is still tilted during this).

Pepper likes to give hugs and kisses like a little person. She will stand in my lap, wrap her paws around my neck and snuggle her little head under my chin. When she had hugged enough, she will give me a little kiss on the lips, give me a little squeeze, and get down. It is so sweet. I just love it when she does that.
