Under the cats, mostly.
OK guys, I'm going to post another feel good factor thread - and I'm posting it in advance because I may not be around tomorrow. I nominated Kev this morning (and well deserved it is too) but with him not being around for a while it would mean that this thread would die out and I didn't want that to happen. I decided it woudln't be fair for me to make TWO nominations, so I PM'd our dear catsite owner Anne and asked if she would make the next nomination and this is what she said...

"You know, I'm afraid I don't know most people as well as I wish I had...

Then again, I know some of the "oldies" better than most. I would nominate Sandie - she's a mod and mostly posts on the Health forums. She's a real cat expert and has given this community so much! I know most of the people posting in the lounge don't know her, so it might be a good chance for them to do so..."

So there you go! Anne, thanks for making the nomination!

Sandie, it does sound like you've got a lot of love to give when it comes to our four-legged friends and I'm ashamed to say that I don't know you that well. I don't frequent the health forums because I obviously don't have a cat, and so won't need much in the way of advice! You must know though that the advice and reassurance you give to those in need of it is not only heeded, but much appreciated and insightful. I hope that you have a great day - maybe I'll sneak in by the forums to read the things you have to say and hopefully get to know you better!

Sandie,

You are a dear friend, as is you hubby Ken and you are one of the first I turn to when I have a cat health crisis (as well you know) I appreciate your level-headedness when I am losing mine, and your advice has always been on the money every time. You know I adore you and we have had quite a few laughs over the years and some tears as well.

I know you don't come into the lounge much anymore- and I just want you to know that I do miss the days when you did.

Take care-

WOW...what a nice surprise

I am guilty of staying in my "nook" here on the catsite. Hissy had to let me know about this thread.
For those of you who do not know me, in Nov of 2000 I was on the internet searching for cat websites. Thankfully one of them brought me here and I have been here ever since.
My love for animals (especially cats) started when I was really young. It was not until I met my husband that I was able to have any cats. It began with 3 black rescues who we brought from CA to CT. Once in CT I got involved with a local rescue. By way of rescue I came upon two Munchkins. Once they came to live with us, we showed them in the alter class at cat shows. Eventually that turned into breeding Munchkins. Between our rescues and pure breeds, we have a large number of cats. Of course, the two dogs have agreed to share the space. I have been working and training at a vet clinic for 5 years. I have also attended a good number of veterinary confrences. I am always looking to increase my knowledge of cats. My husband and I both view the cats as part of the family, and we try to give them the best of everything.
Besides being a cat lover, I love tattoos. I must have 15 or 16 of them by now. I lost count about 2 or 3 ago. Nothing too tacky, just fairy's, dragons, kittys, sun/moon stuff. Being in a tattoo shop, it's hard not to get a body piercing..LOL. I have a belly button ring, and an eyebrow ring. Last week a friend tried to talk me into getting my nose done, but I think I am done with the piercing. With the cats, cat shows, and my obsession with having a clean house, I don't have much extra time for any real hobbies.

Hey! I guess I can say that I know you a little bit and what I do know of you is fantastic! You're very cool and very sweet... I sure wish you would post more so everyone could get to know you better!

By the way... I wanna see your tattoos! I have a few (that few people know about and that I'm debating how to hide from my parents if we all go to Hawaii next year) and love seeing what others have!

At the kitty's beck and call
Have a great day Sandie. I don't know you very well - but I'm sure there are many kitties out there grateful for the good advice you have given since joining the site. Keep up the good work - and yes please pop by the lounge now and again so we can all get to know you.

I think I know a little about you as I have popped by the health forum now and again - I will endeavour to do so more often!

There used to be pictures somewhere on the site of my tattoos, I can't find them. I will have to look through my pictures and see if I can't find some of the good ones to post

Yep, Sandie is one cool cat expert. She's married to another hip mod by the way, who keeps out of the lounge too
hint hint Ken!

But this being Sandie's thread, let me just say this -

THANK YOU SANDIE!

You have added so much to this board with your knowledge and willingness to help! Thank you in the name of hundreds and thousands of cats that you've helped!

I'll echo MA's statement that I wish you would pop in the Lounge once in awhile. Sandie and her hubby, Ken, (Imagyne) are 2 of the coolest people I have come to know on this site, and two I have actually had the good fortune to meet in person. We met a few years back when they came to the Tampa area for a cat show, and they were generous enough to open up their home in Connecticut to me a couple of months later. We had a blast of a weekend visit together.

Sandie is truly a champion for animal welfare, and despite having more cats than I can count, I can attest that her house is immaculate! She's one of the members who haved contributed to making this site what it is today.

Love ya, girl!

I can say, this thread is doing what it's intended to do. Thank you all so much for the wonderful comments.
I haven't had a chance to look through my picture CD's yet, but I have this one on my computer...it was just done in oct.
