Chloe is so pregnant she can't quite reach her bum to clean it... should I *help* her with a damp washcloth or just leave it? It's not really her bum per se, but the fur just around it.

Sure, help Chloe out. I am sure she doesn't want to have feces around her bum either. Plus, you want to have her posterior area clean for when she does give birth.

My two longhaired boys both need occasional help cleaning up 'cling on's or loose stools from the fur around their anus'. I have actually scissor cut the hair there so it is less likely to become soiled. You may wish to do something similar for Chloe if it is the fur that is getting dirty.

I think it's safe. I have to clean Hammie's butt for him. I use a washcloth and warm water (no soap). He seems to not mind it at all. I think as long as you use water only, and something soft, your prego kitty won't mind and will appreciate it!

I clean Angel's on the times when there's a little left behind, no pun intended!

I use a tissue on his uhhhh.....butt, and a wet cotton if it's on his fur.

I have had to help mine out a few times and they don't mind too much as long as you are gently. I use a washcloth or something soft with some warm water (not to hot).

i have to wipe sara's occasionally as well... i have found that "unscented, untreated, absolutley nothing in them" baby wipes work really well, its really quick and convenient as well, i buy the cheapest ones they make... i accidentally bought fresh scent ones once and i think they stung her or something, she hissed at me for the first time ever as soon as i wiped her with it...

I would definitely gently clean it. Wallace, my big, very hairy boy has problems sometimes and I clean his. He has the "cling on" problem sometimes and I have to trim the hair around there. What we do for our kitties.
