Well, I'm feeling sick....headache, swollen glands, tired. But the worst part is, I'm feeling great compared to my immediate circle of friends, who have all come down with suspiciously influenza-like symptoms over the weekend. My immune system has managed to stay pretty much on top of it so far (I've had the swollen/painful glands for a few days now and the rest of the symptoms have stayed minor), but today I'm definitely under the weather. Lucky me, I have a test tomorrow, too! I've been trying to get in touch with my prof....I think I'll be fine to write it, but I don't want to make everyone else sick. Just thought I'd see if anyone else has ever been in this boat...what would you do?

I've been feeling sick too... it's weird because I feel absolutely fine all day with the exception of just feeling drained, which could also be from depression... but I have really bad sleep because my throat hurts and my nose gets stuffed in the middle of the night... Oh well... hopefully it'll go away soon... Hope you start to feel better, too Leli... and as far as your test... I always used any excuse to get out of taking a test lol... see what your Prof says and if he makes you come take the test, just sneeze on him lol

Leli, please feel better! Lots of fluids, rest, snuggling with some kitkats

Talk to your Prof, never hurts to see what he says!

I had pretty much the same thing and emailed my prof. We had a paper due that day but I had been sick from Thursday on, the paper was due Tuesday. I had written it, but it wasn't my best to say the least. She gave me an extension. Try to contact the prof and see what happens, it can't hurt.

Awww sorry to hear your sick. Try talking to your prof before the deadline and see was s/he says. We're really mean though here in the UK, unless the doctor signs you off as being unable to work students have to submit work (nasty aren't we!)

I hope you feel better soon, Leli!

I would speak to your prof and see what happens, they may make you take the test anyway
Make sure you are prepared just on the off chance!

....and yes, Beth, Tutors in the UK are big meanies!

Thanks guys....I'm feeling a little better today. I haven't been able to get in touch with my prof, unfortunately - she must not be checking her e-mail or voice mail. We have the same policy as the UK, at least at my school...you need a doctor's note to be excused. However, I've been having something of a bad run of luck with health and such, so this prof knows I haven't been well...either way, test is in 45 minutes, so I'm just forcing some lunch (not too hungry, but have to eat something) and then I'll be heading out to do my best (which will not be very well...I'm having trouble in this class). Like I said before, thanks for the good vibes!

Drink lots of orange juice and take lots of zinc and echinacea! Those things will help fight it off and build up your immune system even stronger. With the test, I'm not sure if you're school is like my university, but I know that if you're sick and have a test there's no way to get out of it unless you're literally dying or someone very close to you is (with most professors). I've taken a few tests while feeling completely blah. Get lots of rest! I hope you feel better.

I appreciate the positive vibes, but I just completely failed that test. I need that course for my degree, so basically I'm gonna be screwed if I don't find a way to do better, but I've been really trying. This has never happened before....too upset to deal with it right now.
