Group hug!

I've tried to become active in various message boards on this vast sea that we call the Internet. TCS has been, hands-down, the only one that I took any pleasure in! You all are such a welcoming, friendly, thoughtful bunch (with great taste in pets, may I add!). I came here expecting to talk about our love of cats, but what I have taken away from this has been much, much, much more valuable! In a little over a month, this has become like a second family (heck, I talk to some of y'all more than I do my own family). Thank you all for being such a wonderful group of folks. I love this site!

Yep Aime this is so true.

Apart from hubby and the kids, I talk to people on TCS more than I talk to anyone else. TCS is my second family too!

Yes, yes, yes, I agree. TCS is a wonderful place!

I post on some other forums (work related) and I get almost NO SATISFACTION. IF I get an answer to a question it is usually late. Then there are the people that post their (excuse me...) butt-kissing comments about the inferior software they require us to use, rather than tell it like it is and force a change. Oops - sorry for going on about this. It has nothing to do with any of you.

Anyway, I feel like there are real friends here at TCS and I love you guys!

But you bring up a good point.

It amuses me how frequently one of these "I love TCS" threads pops up. It doesn't surprise me. This place is great. But it's made me think about what's different here.

Around Valentine's Day, when the

quotient -- always high -- skyrocketed, the penny dropped. I was musing about it to my husband, and asked him (in jest) if he and his buddies on Major Geeks (computer techie stuff) were exchanging valentines. The toothpaste splattered over the mirror, and he looked at me as if I had dropped in from another planet.

My point was that those guys come together because of a common interest, too, but it's because of a love-hate relationship with that common interest. I think it is safe to say that, to a person, those who come here and stay, do so because of a love relationship with our common interest, and it can't help spilling over. And that is the big difference between this board and so many others.

It even informs the difference between this and other cat boards, because this one has as its raison d'etre the welfare of cats -- as frivolous as we may get from time to time, this is not a frivolous site.

So, once again, Anne, thanks for the foundation. You're always quick to point out that it's the members that make the site what it is, but there had to be something to come to, and to build on, and a climate that made that an attractive proposition.

I agree this is the best site I've EVER been on. There are others I've posted at but they are so cold in comparison. The folks here are all really caring, loving individuals and are there to help in any way they can. This is a rare and wonderful thing.

You're still fairly new but you will be amazed at how quickly you become addicted.

I couldn't have said it better myself!!!!! I just joined a couple months ago and was thinking the same thing.

TCS is awesome because all the people here are so kind, loving and FUNNY as heck! LoL Especially Cheryl, with her poopie threads LoL The funny thing is... I constantly find myself saying "I was talking to my friends about 'this or that'" and I'm referring to you guys... Like whenever I've asked for advice about a situation and then I talk about it with one of my 'real' friends I always refer to something that someone here has said and I usually refer to people by names if they said something that stood out to me... I dont know how many times I've said "I was talking to my friend, Ari about this and she said blah-blah" and my friend Nikki is like "who's Ari??" LoL

Oh well.... I enjoy coming here every day... My day doesnt feel complete if I dont get my TCS fix... lol

I do that too! Luckily my fiance has accepted my internet friends and almost knows them by name! "Oh sure, you were talkin to Beryl, that's cool."
