Tha snow has taken it's time getting from Susan's (rosiemac) but it has finally arrived!

Both Tibby and Molly have been highly intrigued by it this morning - even though thay have both already seen and been in the snow! So, I decided to put their jumpers on and let them go on the balcony to have a better look!

You should have seen them!
I would have taken photos, but they were so fast to go out and come back in again, it was unbelievable!!
For a while, I had Molly in my arms and Tibby hanging by his claws from the skin in my back!! I don't know what changed their minds about the snow - they thoroughly enjoyed walking in it last year!!

Molly was enjoying the snow, as long as I was stood on the balcony with her, freezing!!
She's definitely not soft when it comes to things like that!!

I just had to share this, as I am still laughing now!
They have now been asleep since! At least they can't complain the next time I don't open the door to let them see the snow!!

At the kitty's beck and call
All our indoor/outdoor kitties have decided it's far too cold to be interesting.

Whereas Lily.....she has been leaping out of the door at every opportunity, she's taken to hiding in the cloakroom or her cat carrier, so we think she's safe in another room before opening the front door and suddenly she appears and leaps out of the door.

Yesterday a parcel arrived and she shot out of the door when it was opened. The parcel guy said "What was that" as this blur sped by - then he and hubby were tearing all over the drive trying to rugby tackle this tiny Singapura!

She's such a rascal.

I think you would have had a struggle to see me through the blue air!!
I do seem to be having a few problems with Tibby and his claw obsession with my skin!!

I see your indoor/outdoor are a lot cleverer than these good ol' indoors!!

Lily seems like a little tinker!! Do you have a harness for her? Maybe you could take her out to see what the snow is like?!!

I can just see your hubby and the postman legging it around in the snow trying to catch Lily!
I bet you stayed in the warm, watching and laughing!!

The indoor/outdoor have got is sorted - they've all found a warm spot upstairs and will not move for anyone
. I don't think I could prize them out with a crowbar

Happily? for me, I'm not allowed to be tearing around, bending or stretching, so I just had to sit back and watch it all - it was hilarious!!! I tell you, you'd pay for TV like that

We've discussed whether to take her out on the harness. But she has such a taste for the outdoors we've decided it's better not to give her more. I'm not joking, she sits in the back living room window and sizes up which bit of back garden she hasn't yet escaped too. Then, when absent-minded hubby forgets to check where she is, she tears through the conservatory and makes for the next unexplored spot. When we talked to the breeder she was of the opinion that what they hadn't had they don't miss - I'm not so sure Lily thinks that, she certainly feels outside would be good

It might be worth a try though, taking her out on a harness! Tibby and Molly have explored the whole of my parents big back garden (even dragging us into the most aukward and tiny spots) I feel a lot better that they know the garden though, as if they did escape, they would recognise it. I always lift them over the door going out and let them walk back in - it also tires them out and keeps them busy for ages licking themselves clean!! She might enjoy it as a treat, especially as the others get to go!

It might be worth a try to stop her wandering ways. We'll have to wait a bit longer I think as she can't have her last vaccination until she's 8 months old and so many cats walk through the garden I'd be a bit wary of her picking something up.

Probably a good idea!

Maybe you could buy her a harness and start practising with it in the house, fo now?! It would be good (and helpful for you) if it worked!

Yeah, thanks for the tip. We've got a nice Sylvester and Tweetie Pie one that Felicity uses when she goes to the vet (she hates carriers and likes to pretend she's driving
), so I could practice inside with that for a while.

Felicity drives you to the vets!
That is so good! Does she not get scared at the vets - only on her harness - if there are dogs there?!

I hope you have fun trying the harness with Lily! I am sure that she won't mind it once she realised it means going outside!

(Tibby and Molly run when they hear their harnesses!
)

Oh Felicity is absolutely fearless. Once a dog broke through our hedgerow (we've got a gate there now) and into the back garden, it was about three times the size of Felicity, she flew at this dog and I tell you, it discovered an exit from the garden even we didn't know existed - I think it morphed through the hedge actually because it was gone like a shot. They are more scared of her than she of them.

I think Felicity is a heroine!
I think she would make a good team with Molly!

Molly met a dog once - when a kitten - and managed to hiss and side step it into a corner!
(Tibby was off as fast as possible!!
and he's VERY big!)

What i would have given to see that Sarah!

Well it cleared up but started again last night just after 8.p.m. so they were straight on the bedroom windowsill!.

This morning there was another good covering, so i picked up Sophie and took her to the back door which is what i did the other day and she sniffed at the fresh air like mad!.

Not this time!, she was terrified!!
I just started to turn the key and she must have known what was going to happen so she wriggled her body so that her head was over my shoulder as if to say "No mum it's cold!!!"

I think she prefers it from the inside like her mum!

Sophie - what an intelligent kitty you are
mummy has taught you well!

Molly and Felicity could team up - geeze they'd be the MOB wouldn't they
. At the time this dog broke into our garden Tippy was double Felicity's size and she did exactly what Tibby did - you didn't see her for dust. I wonder if it's something about the names - they are very similar aren't they. Tibby and Tippy could get together and both quake in the same corner

I will try again and see if I can get photos next time!
It really was so funny!!

Maybe Tibby and Molly gave Sophie a quick email or call this morning and told her that I had tried to get them outside!
They must think we are terribly cruel!!

Do you take Rosie to the door too? Does she like the snow and the smell?!

Our weather has changed again now, it has been quite heavy snow flurries, but now it is glorious sunshine!
It really doesn't know what it is doing!!

They certainly would be the MOB!!

It must be their names!!
Although I don't think Tibby would like to hear us saying he has a name that sounds like a girls!!

Just that last bit of your post has got me in tears!!
I can just see them cowering in the background while Molly and Felicity are beating the giants!!
(it would be cowering or probably climbing my back!!
)

Poor Tibby - being protected by a girl!!! It's a good job he's an indoor kitty - he'd have a tough time with the neighbourhood boys wouldn't he!

Just like Sophie, Rosie's just been in my arms at the back door sniffing but she's not very fussed either!. I think it must be the cold air when it hits them

Sunday was the first day that either of them have felt and sniffed it properly.

It wasn't until Tricia(JCat) asked if they had seen the snow to touch that i ran outside and scouped some up for them.

especially with the tiny size of her!

Actually, with other cats, he's a killer and he's a total fighter to any human that crosses his path the wrong way or at the wrong time!!
But dogs....

He also had a bit of a panic when Molly caught a bird on one of our walks - it flapped and Tibby was off in the other direction!!
(the bird was fine, by the way and it could also have been my shouting that scared him!)

Oh yes, I remember from your thread and Rosie was batting the snowballs!! I think they would rather keep the cold away from them!

To be honest though, I really don't blame them for not wanting to be in the snow!! I guess we just expect them to enjoy it, like children do!
