This was Abby the night after her surgery. As you can see, she was pretty miserable.

This is her yesterday...a mere 5 days after surgery, sitting on top of the computer monitor.

She feels pretty good now and is playing as usual.

Look how good her incision looks now!

Looking out at the storm.

This picture just cracks me up! It looks so bizarre the way she has her tongue......almost like she has big red lips!

O.K. I'm not laughing at her incision because that first pic was nasty but those "lips" are hilarious. I don't think I've seen something that funny in a long time!
Glad to see she's feeling better now.

I know....I didn't even realize I had gotten her picture like that until I put them in the computer and I just laughed like crazy at that one! She's sitting funny too. I think she had been licking her belly and looked up at me as I took the picture.

Aw she's so cute! I don't remember Baylee's incision looking anything like that though! Weird.

I was a little worried about it that first night because I thought it looked so bad. But then I realized that a lot of it was the iodine staining the area and also it was still probably swollen and a little bloody. But as you can see from the other picture of her incision.....it looks really good....and there are no signs of infection and it's not swollen anymore.

This same vet did Shelby's spay about 4 years ago and she didn't have any problems at all. I can't remember what her incision looked like right afterward though. But you can't even see her scar at all now.

At the kitty's beck and call
Abby's so beautiful
I'm glad she's feeling better now. It did look sore to begin with, but looking just perfect now.

Now it's my turn to say it's weird to see where the spay incision is for US females!! I've never seen a kitty spayed through their abdomen rather than the flank.

Teufel's a boy right? Don't worry what they have done is a lot less noticeable. They do sit a bit uncomfortably for a few days though. He will just have less to wash

I'm sure she will be fine. Abby pretty much hid under the bed for about 3 days...only coming out to eat and use the litterbox. But I think that was because she didn't want the other cats bothering her. There were several times when she would be under my bed and it was just me in the room, and she'd come out and get on the bed with me and snuggle. By the 4th day, she was feeling much better and today (which is 1 week)....she's perfectly fine......even chasing Leo around again. (she's such a big flirt and has a weakness for redheads)

Glad pretty Miss Abby is doing so much better now! And look at that white little tummy!

That incision looks so big to me...is that because she had kittens? Ophelia was full grown
when she was spayed and only had 4 stitches...
