I'm in from work and while my bath is running i'm making my sandwich up for work tomorrow.

I get the packet of wafer thin beef out the fridge that i also had in my sandwich yesterday and take some out to see something black about 4mm in size which i thought was probably off the ovens?!.

It wasn't until i flicked it off and it was on it's back that i noticed it was a " WOOD LICE BEETLE!!!"

Eeew it's just the thought that i had a sandwich with the same beef yesterday that was next to this

It's back in the freezer now and i'll be on to trading standards tomorrow because they'll be wanting to see it and possibly make an inspection of where the meat was packed.

Uuuuurgh horrible

Oh dear Susan... that's awful! Once I brought a piece of Bacon & Egg pie and it had a LIVE beetle in it, never been back to that shop!

Was it John, Paul, George or Ringo?

Mmmmmmmm, that beef sandwich must've tasted a little chunky yesterday!

I didn't know you liked to eat bugs Susan!

Maybe you can heat the little buggie in the microwave so it'll bring out the flavor of it a little.

Just curious when you ate the sandwich yesterday and you took a bite, did some juicy stuff squirt out?

Did you brush your teeth afterwards and find little legs in between when you flossed?

WOW! Susan, here in the U.S. that means you can file a lawsuit for millions of dollars and settle out of court for gads of money for your pain and mental distress ("...yes, your honor, I had recurring nightmares of beetles for weeks....") and all it takes is one call to the local news station.........

Normally i do but i never expected it in a sealed pack but i'll be checking from now on!

I've just been speaking on the phone to my sister and she said its a "Leather Jacket" beetle.

I don't know how i started calling them "Wood Lice"?!

Either way it's still a beetle!

Elizabeth they've started the law suits here as well on a lot of things.

I'm getting in touch with the health department for the simple fact that wherever the meat was packaged in could be infested with them because these beetles in particular love damp places so if the premises are damp?!

I would call the company and report it!
I have called a few companies and reported things (nothing like your story) and they have given me free coupons or cash back...
Just a thought

They would offer vouchers as well but i'm more concerned at the fact that i buy this companies packed cooked meats every week and everytime i'll be thinking is there a beetle in?!, so i would rather the health department get the premises checked out.
