Introducing a new cat

I have a male cat that has been living with me for 18 months. I just recently got a female kitten about 7 mounths old, she has been with us about a week. I have to keep them seperate because my male cat doesn't seem to like the new addition to the family. Everytime he hears her or sees her under the door, he hisses and growls at her. How do I get him to accept her, or can I? Please if anyone could give me some tips I would be very greatful.

The male car has been neuterd.
