A friend of mine recent brought in a 5 months old. spayed and the vet stated that she had nicked her bladder when doing the surgery. The kitten is now urinateing in the house small amounts frequently. The vet put her on an antibiotic and said that it was caused by her manipulating the bladder.

What do you guys think?

Okay, I talked to my vet. Her take on it was that if they get the bladder, then they should repair it right there. If she seems to urinate frequently or all over, its possible the cat has an infection from the cut.

Thanks so much - it's good to have another Vet's point of view.

Let's make the assumption that that the Vet repaired the nick - then the antibiotcs she is taking now should resolve the problem. Right?!

It would depend on the infection. If after the course of antibiotics, it hasn't cleared up, I would have her take the cat to the vet for either another antibiotic or a longer period of time.
