YIKES! Major Storms Hitting Here!

My first day off in several days and I want to play on the computer.....and wouldn't ya know it....we're getting hit with major storms! I think I have about 5 minutes before my electricity is going to go off!

I just hope we don't have any tornados today. Tennessee has a lot of tornados this time of year. Some areas are already getting lots of hail.

Crap...it's getting bad! I guess I'll turn my computer off now.

Awww Robin, sorry to hear this. Hang in there and let us know when the storm has passed!!

I think things are settling down some now. My electricity never went off believe it or not. Usually, it goes off if the wind blows!

There are more storms coming this way though. I hope I don't keep having to shut down the computer all day.

Hopefully all will be well today. Do you have a UPS on your computer? It would give you a minute or more to shut down your PC. That way you wouldn't miss any more of TCS than you absolutely had too!

What's a UPS?

I just looked at your radar (I'm the Doppler Queen - my DH calls me Doppler Head). Yikes!!! I would have had heart failure I at least have another month before I start having to worry about severe weather.

UPS = Uninterrupted Power Supply. You can get them at most computer stores or Walmart even. They are a power surge protector (save you rfrom the nasty zaps) and also have a battery - this allows your PC to still be up for you to shut it down. Some even have a chord you can hook up to your PC and software that will shut your PC down for you if aren't there. My favorite brand is APC.
