Ok so my cat is in labor im sure. About every 2 1/2 minutes her belly gets hard and rises up like a fist (sort of a long, round shape). She gets really uncomfortable during this time and moves around. I assume these are contractions. If it's anything like people contractions they are close together. Has anybody else ever timed contractions like im doing or am I just a kook? lol

I never timed them, just sat there with them, palpated how strong the contractions seemed, and watched for signs of pushing having begun.

wishing your kitty a smooth delivery,

Ok so you can tell when they are having contractions? I thought maybe i was imagining things. She's on the right track then.

I could tell, but then I was also used to feeling my patient's contractions
as that was my career at the time. You described it perfectly, and it's markedly different than the feeling the kittens rolling up and out.

Elka had five beautiful kittens. Three were breach and two normal. she may have one more in there. I'm so proud. They are already purring.

Your right, really different they are definately contractions! And my kitty is having hers about the same time as the other kitty on this thread-what a coincidence!
