I haven't given an update in a few days so I guess it's time! Well, I can't believe it but Jake is greatly improved. I would say I have gone from feeling like the situation is hopeless to being cautiously optimistic. Jake has NO MORE dried pus at all on his ears and around the one eye that was so inflammed. Last time I posted it was just starting to clear up. So this is great news, right?! Those areas that were so inflammed are no longer producing pus! And this morning I noticed a little peach fuzz (fur) starting to grow on his ears!

Jakes toes and paws have improved but they still have the furthest to go. The tissue on top of his paws looks healthy and no longer red and inflammed. And he is getting less and less dried pus build up between his toes all the time. However, I still get pus out of his toes when I squeeze gently. His toes are still sensitive and bother him a bit but he is walking better. So this is all a wonderful miracle! But I will feel a lot better when his toes stop producing pus and are not painful anymore.

I just read this thread and am so glad to hear that Jake is improving. I know how frustrating it is to wait and wait, hoping for our cats to get better, and how we beat ourselves up for not taking them to the vet sooner. And you've done such a wonderful job taking care of him. Hope your beautiful boy is 100% better real soon!

I'm so sorry that you and Jake have gone through all of this. I'm glad he's doing better, and I will pray for him to get completely well asap. I'm sorry I haven't been following this thread. I've been going through some things of my own, with the loss of my Precious Snoopy.

Oh Tammie, I am so relieved for you and Jake. I wished he had gotten better a lot sooner to take the stress off of you. Give him a gentle hug from me will you?

This is good news! I am sure we were all wondering and hoping. Super vibes coming for further improvement.

Here are some pics I took today. I think you can see the difference. Let me know because I still tend to think it's just what I want to see. LOL Anyway, please remember his coat is not in that good of shape. I soak his paws in epsom salts twice a week and it gives his fur this wirey, sticky or greasy look. It would be kind of pointless to give him a full bath at this point.

This is a good one of his ear (the one that was the worst) and you can kind of see his toes.

Another of the ears. They look really good to me! A little funny cuz they don't have fur on them.... but that is starting to grow back!

Just a face shot. The area around they eye is to the left as you're looking at the picture.

You can kind of see how thin his fur got here. But to me he looks much better.

Oh and by the way... today I noticed he has fur growing around the one eye again!

He does look much better than the earlier pictures. I hope his discomfort has eased somewhat by now?

Thanks! Yes I think he does look MUCH better! And his discomfort has gotten much better. He's still a little cautious when he walks but even that is getting better. But he will let me pet him and poke and probe at his ears, eyes and even a bit at his paws.

Hissy, I gave him a kiss and a squeeze for you a few days ago!

Wow! What a fantastic difference!
Jake, you're a little miracle baby! This is so wonderful!
Glad to hear you say this! You know how it is when you see someone day after day and it's hard to see the differences. Of course it's getting to the point where I can't help but see the difference now!

I think I forgot to mention that Jake has some new claws where the old ones fell out a few weeks ago. They are those tiny, sharp little kitten claws!
