This may be a dumb question.... but can you brush a cat too much? Let me explain... I bought Dori a new brush yesterday. I have tried several with her and she would not tolerate any of them, including the Zoom Groom. I bought a brush at Petsmart with really fine metal bristles, but they are pretty soft feeling. She loves the brush! She sat still for a long time letting me brush her last night and this morning she meowed next to the hairbrush for me to brush her. I like brushing her, but it removes so much hair. I can't imagine her possibly having that much hair loose
Is it ok to brush her everyday or should I not do that? She has short hair in case that's important.

I really don't think brushing her every day will hurt her, and you'll probably find that you get a lot less loose hair as time goes on. Congratulations on finding a brush she likes!

I bought a dog Zoom Groom, which Jamie loves. My sister bought one for a cat (she has two), and one for a dog (three), and has ended up brushing all five with the dog one.

I over groomed my Himi when I first got her. I was combing her 5 times a day, no one told me the fur in her ruff was delicate and I broke it all off. It has no ill effects on Lucy, she simply couldn't be shown. Daily brushing or combing will not pull out too much hair.

Well that is good news
Dori has begged to be brushed twice since I got home from work.
Steph, you are right it is almost amazing that she loves it
. It's funny how with cats something that seems so simple, such as finding a brush they like, can be such a task!

I'm trying to get better at brushing Sash at least once a week. He gets pretty excited when I get the glove mitten out to brush him, he'll run real fast to me and meow but after a few minutes he's usually had enough.
