Guys needs some help please?

After 10:00 PM we are getting hit with spammers. I can't be here on the board all the time, but I am on the computer at night. Send me a PM or an email and I get here quick and get rid of the spammer- just at night, I am the only mod who keeps these late and early morning hours (working on my book) so I thank you for your help!

PM or email you rather than hit the report button? I am VERY glad to help out as I am here usually late at night too

yes PM is best, but email works. When you hit the report button a report goes to the mods who are in charge of this forum but they are asleep. I am the nightowl, so I can get the offensive posts off quickly, otherwise it waits for morning. This is only at night and being posted here because last night we got hit by porn spammers. And also don't ever click any links spammer leave in the message. The member that did lost control of her computer for a few hours.

I reported a couple of those who are advertising to Heidi the other week who removed them, are they classed as spammers?

They are Susan, its the one post wonders who put up porn links

yes spammers are people who swoop in here one time and leave annoying self promoting garbage in the main post or post porn either pictures or links. work at home, earn money, chain letters, the list is endless and lately we have been hit more often. it is an immediate banning as well no warning, one strike they are gone

Ta for the heads-up MA It's a shame there's always a select few who ruin the fun for the majority - I'm sure these people were like that as kids too, they just haven't gotten out of that stage yet and grown-up I've had a problem with pop-up ads here, being on a dial-up connection and all, but that I can live with. I will say too, I'm usually here, or at least on my computer, all day on weekdays. There's been a rash of idiots posting spam threads in Health & Nutrition (like kitties care about a fitness club!). Those who look after the specialized forums (Health & Nutrition, Behavior, etc.) can't always be here all the time because their real life and jobs interfere. So if you don't see them on, feel free to PM me during the day. And Thank You Susan who has been on the ball with these types!
