Why does the rain affect Milo so strangely?

I know I've talked about this before, but now I want to ask if anyone has an answer.

Whenever it rains (it's been raining today) Milo will run with his body close to the floor trying to find a hiding spot. It doesn't even need to be raining hard or have thunder either, just a drizzle rain will do it as much as a thunderstorm. I know when I see him doing that it must be raining.
Anyone know why the rain affects some kitties this way. I don't know if he's scared or just reacting to the change of the barametric (sp?) pressure. Or some other reason.

I'm no expert but I think he's reacting to the change of the barametric pressure or maybe there's something in the air whenever it rains. My two have never done this though so I can't say I speak from experience, just what I remember vaguely from books!

Poor Milo! We did have a persian who used to slink through the garden with nervous looks at the sky as if it was going to fall on her if she wasn't careful, but the only problem with rain we get is that Jake is absolutely convinced that rain is my fault and I could make it stop if I wanted to. I get sulking, pleading and demanding, make it STOP, I want to go in the garden!

It could be the smell of rain as well thats sending him into a tizzy as well as the pressure. Maybe he thinks hes going to get soaked and is trying to avoid it. When I have seen our indoor/outdoor cat running thru the rain years ago I seem to remember him being pretty quick and slinky about it till he would get under a safe bush next door.
