Make the house smell nice with fresh lemons?
I have cleaned the house from top to bottom but for some reason when ever you come into the house it always smells so weird, as if no air is getting in here, when im freezing right now and the window is open, i throw out the bin every day so i dont understand where this odous is coming from?
Its not the bathroom and its not cat urine, it just smells really weird, it didnt smell like this when we first moved in!
ANyway i bought a bunch of lemons for cheap so i was wondering if anyone knew how to make the house smell nice???

If you don't mind using air fresheners Neutradol is really good and fresh smelling - but of course that's only hiding the smell not getting rid of the cause.


The same with lemons. You could zest the lemons and put the zested skins in boiling water, but again that will only hide the smell not get rid of the cause.

Have you checked your drains? Is your toilet emptying properly and quickly when you flush - there might be a problem further down the line there. Or it could be your sink/wash basin drain. If so, you might want to put some bleach through there to make sure it's clean all the way down where you can't reach to clean it (in the pipes etc).

well i have already cleaned the drainage thoroughly when i moved in with bleach and its not coming from there.
its coming from the small hallway but there is nothing there except for carpet?
I wanted to change the carpet but my bf doesnt think there is a need since we arent going to live here for such a long time.
Its a pretty small appartment 30qm i think thats how you say it, its only got 2 rooms and a tiny hallway
I read somewhere about the skin and making it like potpurri like, but i cant find the site anymore.

Now i have so many lemons here i dont know what to do with it

It could be your hall carpet. What's underneath it - is it a wooden floor or concrete? Could there be something under the floor if it's wooden. Sorry about this Fwan but if it's wooden there could be a dead mouse or something under there

Or it could just be that your hall carpet got wet at some point in the past and now you have moved in and started to warm the place up the smell is coming out. There's not much you can do about that other than get rid of the carpet.

If your cats have peed on your carpet, the urine seeps down into the liner and down into the floorboards. The only way to get rid of the smell is to replace carpet liner, and even sometimes the floor boards. I would invest in a black light and search your home. My guess is you have hidden urine stains you are unaware of

How about setting a pot of water to boil and adding cinnamon sticks, cloves etc......

no under the carpet there is.... concrete...
its really not pee, it just smells weird, not our scent.
the people before us the man was 30 and his gf was 17 and they just had a baby.... it doesnt smell like vomit, i dont know..
i will just put the lemons in the pot and make a jam or something
