I just came home from running some errands and it seemed so strange that my sweet boys didn't meet me at the door like they always do since they are having surgery today.

Leo and Shelby have gotten lazy, so they don't always meet me at the door when I come home anymore. But Thomas and Cooper ALWAYS run to the door and get so excited when I come home. I usually have to spend a few minutes picking them each up and giving them hugs and kisses before I do anything else. Abby usually meets me at the door too, but she's so jumpy all the time, she doesn't let me pick her up......so she just gets a few head rubs before she runs off.

It really makes me realize how much I've come to enjoy them and I wonder how I could have ever thought about giving them away. I'm so glad that I didn't.

I'll be glad when they are home tonight, safe and sound. I'm such a nervous mommy and I hate to think of them being in pain.
I hope everything is going ok.

Yeah I know.....I'm just a "worrier" by nature and it would kill me if something happened to any of them. I'm mainly worried about Thomas since he has had some problems recently. They are doing a little more with him and are going to draw his blood also to make sure everything is ok with him.

I love them all.....but Thomas has really become my "special baby" since he's so attached to me. He follows me everywhere, talks to me, and sleeps with me. And it's so cute....when he sleeps with me....he has to have some part of his body touching mine....whether that be laying his head on me...or reaching out his paw and laying it on me.

I did ask the vet if I could stay and watch and he said "no" because it's an OSHA regulation. Oh well....never hurts to ask.

Your right Robin. Thomas sure is a little love bug! I know he'll go through alittle more than Abby and Cooper, but you have to believe that all will be ok! But as a kitty mother, I know nothing really assures us until the doc gives us a clean bill of health and our babies are back in our home again. Make sure you write as soon as you can here and let us all know......I'm thinkin about you Pal!!

By the way....I meant to tell you all how much they weighed today.

Thomas- 8.75 pounds
Cooper- 8.75 pounds
Abby- 6.1 pounds

Can you believe how big the boys have gotten? They are already way bigger than their mom! Abby just feels so tiny to me compared to all the other heffers in this house!

LOL Susie!

She's so tiny that if feels like you're gonna break her when you pick her up. She weighed about 7.5 pounds the last time I took her in. But that was just a few weeks after she had the boys and she was still nursing. I guess she hadn't lost her pregnancy weight yet. I was concerned about her weight loss at first, but the vet assured me that she's healthy and there's nothing to worry about. She'll probably put the weight back on once she's spayed.

You are doing right by both of them, and being a responsible pet owner. Please try not to worry, they will be a bit subdued when they come home. Put them in a room where there is little to jump on. Even groggy cats will try and jump sometimes. Follow the vet's instructions and thank you for stopping the cycle of reproduction. Even though I know these are house cats.

I don't know if they all get fat....but they do put on weight. Going into heat frequently burns a lot of calories and causes them to stay thinner. (at least that's why my vet has told me)

Thanks. Yeah I'm going to get their "sick room" all ready for them and will probably just leave the carriers out also so they can sleep in them if they want.

One of the things that I really like about my vet is that he does the surgery in a way that keeps the boys looking like boys. I think that's good so they don't have an identity crisis.
