I am very very happy about this! Baker's teeth are progressively getting worse so his vet and I decided to do a full cleaning. I don't want my poor boy losing teeth later on!

While I have seen a cleaning done (worked at the vets) I am not sure what they do
Is it similar to when a person has their's done (I do know Baker will be out cold for the whole thing)? If anyone could explain that would be great!

As for his ears... UGH!!! They are NASTY! He has deep wax "balls" deep in his ears and they are a constant bother to him. After trying every solution ect known his vet has decided to go in while he is out after the teeth cleaning and get it all out.
Any clue how he will do this?

It's too early for me to be nervous yet since the appt is March 24 and it will all be explained then but I would love to know what will be done.... NOW
!

Awww Ashley i havent a clue about their ears apart from seeing it done on animal planet and it looks like a big cotton bud like what we would use, and when they've cleaned around all this brown stuffs been on the end of it

I bet he feels great after it's done though!!

Don't they use something similar to a drill for all the plaque?!

An ultra-sonic cleaner is used to clean the teeth, it moves so fast that vibrates and breaks the tarter of the teeth. With the animal asleep you can get under the gum line too.

The ear clearing would go pretty much the same as when the animal is awake except with the animal asleep you can get very deep with an otoscope and curettes. We had to do this with one of my cats when I first got him because he had ear mites so bad they just would not clear up.
