My parents are buying a cat....The poster children of dog lovers are getting a cat......My father the man who said "You can't be my kid"..in reference to my having three cats, and room in my heart for many many many more is getting a cat.............
They tell me they want to get one, because they have a mouse problem, and supposidly the smell of cat urine repells mice...They said they wanted to get a cat in a couple of weeks..........
Well i got a call today from my sister who said the family has decided to add an addition to there family as soon as this weekend....And they want me to help them with everything.........While my sister was on the phone i heard my father trying to come up with names....lmao.........this is so bizzare....they wanted to know what food and toys, and medical treatment, and how to introduce the dog and cat to eachother...I realized at this point that this addition was more then a way to get rid of mice...............
My father and mother both had dogs growing up, and our only family pet is our mutt libby.......on top of which my dads mother who passed away a few years ago hated cats with every part of her being....Yet here is my family asking me about a cat....eeeeek
I know this is doofus' doing....they adore him soooo much, my dad talks about him all the time.........thry really fell in love with him...........
They have never had a cat before...and they have a great deal to learn and adjust to now that the leader of the house will soon be coming home....But you know what I am not worried.....My sister adores all living things.....she still knows the birthdays of all our hampters and fish we had....She bought my cats that 200$ cat tree that we have in our living room just because.......And this deep caring for the animal kingdom can be traced back to my dad.....
I will help them 100%.....If it means saving a stray, and bringing it into a dysfunctional yet loving home...what could be better....
