Nope. You can't crop with any kind of control in Paint. It doesn't tell you how many pixels you are selecting as you crop and there's no feature to keep the select box dragging in a 1:1 ratio.

Crap, I should have asked first.
I'd be willing to bet that it has a crop tool. Try opening the program and exploring each button at the top of the window. Look for things like crop and resize. Hopefully you can find a controlled way to do it so you don't have to do guess work.

Yes it has those features, but, how can I add words to the picture so that I have, let's say, a plain pink background with the words "Official TCS Jokester" or Joke-teller?

Does HP Photo & Imaging have a text tool? That's what you need.

Cheryl you might have missed it, if you didn't miss it I apologize!!!... You have techically been a member since July but like Ariana said because of the crash, you have only been a member since December, thats why it still says "Adult Cat" when you look at the Avatars... I am in the same position as you

But these are all excellent tips! Keep them in mind for April when its 4 months

I haven't set time aside to work at it, but, I'm sure it will be. You've been extremely helpful with your ideas and your putting aside time to help me. Thank you so much.
I appreciate it.

Cheryl, I hate to "bust" you like this, but I was just looking at your signature. The pictures alone take up nearly 57 KB, and with all the hearts added, it's practically 67 KB. Only 30 KB are allowed.

The reason I was checking was I was wondering if you'd like an animated signature until you're far enough along to have a custom avatar? Something likes this or ? The first one is 9 KB, while the second is 4.5 KB. You could use either one along with your first and third pictures, if you wanted. This one is 7 KB, so it would work, too:

So thoughtful of you to take the time to do that. I wish I knew how to. I think for now, I'll wait. Cirque is trying to help me make a customized signature too.

I don't know for sure if I want my sig changed. I do want an avatar added though! Can I have an avatar custom made now, or do I have to wait to be a member for at least 4 months?

I think you have to wait. Your signature is going to have to be changed, because it's way too big and against forum rules - think of the poor people with dial-up service! If you remove the hearts and just use the first two pictures you'll be within the limits.

The less text you have, the better it will be. Jokester, JokeQueen JokeMonster would all work but TCS Official Joke Teller would only be visible if you have a magnifying glass-

How about something like this until you get things worked out? Close-ups of Angel's face would probably be better, but this is definitely "custom". Then you could put whatever title you wanted under your user name.

You're welcome. I know you didn't ask for more, but I made your sig into one pic and reduced the size with the JPEG optimizer in Photoshop. Now it is 17kb. If you like you can right-click, save it for yourself and upload it to your image hoster. (I also smudged the edges of the last two photos to make them match up evenly. It only took a minute.)

Ryan, that looks great, and is just what she needs. I'm getting 18 KB, BTW, but whichever it is, it's well within the limits, and will even allow her to keep her hearts (just over 9 KB).
