Hi all!

We've been using the Nature's Miracle litter since we brought Beaker home, so far the most annoying thing is the tracking! Beaker always seems to bury his back feet along with any "deposits" so there is always litter tracked aroung the box. Not to mention if he goes at night and then gets into bed with us there is litter tracked there too.

We have a large litter mat that helps somewhat with the tracking, but Beaker hates walking on it and gets off it as soon as he can, so any benefit of the mat is minimal. Any other hints to help with this? We are dealing with it as well as we can for now, but if there is anything else we can try then we are all for it.

Thanks!
Amanda

How old is Beaker? Is he young? Under 6 months? CJ and Billy did that when they were young. They just didn't quite know how to use the litter box yet. The way I got them to stop, was everytime they came out of the litter box, I would check them and make sure there weren't any "deposits" on their feet or bum. If there were, I would bring him or her to the sink, and use toilet tissue and water to wash them off. I used as little water as I could. No soap, just plain water, and dry him or her off when finished. They didn't very much like it, but it had to be done. And, it made them learn a lot faster!

Hope that was of help to you!

He's just 4 months, I do check him constantly to be sure that he has nothing stuck to him but the litter is still tracked everywhere. It may be because he has long hair, but we keep him up with the 'sanitary shave'. I'm hoping it is just because he is a kitten tho.

Hello to another Floridian!

Yes, you live just a drive away from me!

The chances are it's just because he's a kitten... like I said, CJ and Billy were the same way when they were young, and they grew out of it. The most advice I can give you is to clean him up whenever he goes potty, and always check him before you pick him up, or before he jumps up on you. Keep your door closed at night, or put him in a room of his own during the nights and when you are out of the house. He should grow out of it in a couple of months, and learn how to use the "big litterbox."
