I'm used to sleeping with my ceiling fan on...it's set on high. Is this air bad for my kitty? Will she catch a cold or get sick? It gets hot back here without it, at least for me!

People and other mammals, that includes cats, don't get sick from the cold, they get sick from bacteria or viruses. If anything the fan promotes proper ventilation, which is good for all of us.So as long as your cat doesn't have a REALLY long tail
, the fan should not be a problem. Wish I had a access to a ceiling fan now...my office is sooo stuffy.

You are worse than me!
The ceiling fan is fine for your kitty! Are you feeling more relaxed today?

Maybe a little? I see her licking the staples (yes she does, I dont know how with the ecollar, but she does) but haven't seen her bite them. She is calm now but I'm afraid she's gonna get revved up before bed and then my blood pressure goes through the roof, because I'm trying to sleep

You are so cute because you are the new mom! It's going to be O.K. I promise!!!! It's very sweet that you care so much about your new kitten! It will be less stressful after the ecollar is off and her wounds have healed.

Aww, what a sweet question. We sleep with a fan on because we like it COLD... Baylee likes sleeping under the covers as a result (I think). So I'm sure if your kitty gets cold, she'll sleep under there too!

We use the ceiling fans all of the time. The cats enjoy the fresh breeze as well.

In fact, Lion is much happier with them on than off. When they are off, he can see the blades and the shadows they throw on the ceiling. He will skulk as close to the ground as he can and run past if he has go cross underneath them. If I am holding him and he suddenly sees the unmoving blades he tenses up and tries to get away, as if the fan is something dangerous. Since I have had him since 10 days old I know he has never had a bad experience with a ceiling fan but I think perhaps the instinctual levels must kick in some time and perhaps the shadow and the outstretched arms of the fan look similar to some sort of big predator bird. Yes, he is much happier when they are moving - they just blow air then and look nothing like something dangerous:-). Poor kitty :-).

Loving my beautiful baby girl
Sierra and I also have ceiling fans and keep them on all the time. We have regular fans, also, and keep them on most of the time for the soothing sound. I absolutely must have a fan at night to sleep! You're just so great to care so very much about every last detail of providing your baby the best of care!

Have you trimmed the collar down?. I had to with Rosie and Sophies because it was huge but i only took a little off because they shouldn't be able to touch the stitches.

No need to trim hers, it wasn't long enough to begin with because she still got one staple out. Then today she actually BROKE the ecollar, and it's irreparable. We worked out an ace bandage type situation which seems to be working OK. Cross your fingers we make it to saturday with no infection and that she'll be all healed up!
