Maybe I'm just being weird here, but here goes:

I thought there was some law or something regarding dogs pooping in public places?

Like --- if someone is walking their dog in your neighborhood -- and the dog poops in your yard (while you are standing there on your front porch, no less) shouldn't the owner of the dog scoop the poop and take it with them? Or are they 'allowed' to just leave it?

Also, another question --- if someone lives in an apartment building vs. having a street with yards for their dog to poo on; shouldn't they take the dog outside to poo (and then scoop it up & dispose of it) vs. letting them poop in the foyer of the building? And leaving the pile in the foyer?

Just curious.

My office is located in the ground level of a 5 story apartment building in a kinda weird area. A coworker of mine walked out into the foyer a minute ago to talk about our boss, and well, there was a pile of poo in the foyer. I *think* it was a dog, could have been one of the tennants upstairs? Unsure.

It stinks out there. Do you think someone did this on purpose? A doggie Valentine maybe? It is square in the center of the foyer!

They should pick it up yes, not sure if thats a nationwide law but it is a law in some places at least not to say its bad manners to leave your dog's poo in someones yard.

About the Foyer.. get a maintaince guy to clean it up, thats terrible! You pay rent NOT to live in a poo infested building! Or something..

That's disgusting. I would check with city/public works and find out what department you need to report that too. There's nothing loveable about stinking pile of crap in the foyer.

I think it does depend on the municipality's laws, but in most areas you do have to clean up after your pooch.

I know our property management just sent out a notice to people with "authorized dogs" reminding them to pick up after their dogs. (Hmmm, does that mean that "unauthorized dogs" can poo anywhere?
) It is gross to be walking in a public place and find dog poo, and I can't even imagine it being left on the foyer!!

What I want to know, is who is going to get down there and sniff it to find out if its from an authorized dog or an unauthorized dog. I am sure glad I am NOT working for your property manager!

It's so annoying, the other day I saw a woman just pick up her dogs poop and toss it off the path, they are suppose to pick it up.

I read that as you think it was a dog, but it could have been one of the upstairs tennants having an accident

I always always ALWAYS clean up after my dog when we are on a walk and her poo is tiny, I dont think anyone would even see it if I left it, but that is just gross. And I am pretty sure its a law, its at least common respect.

Pooping inside a building!! Wow that takes guts for a pet owner thinking they can get away with that. Does your office have a lease that mentions that perhaps. I always thought dog owners always had to clean up. Of course here in the country if one of my neighbor's dogs comes over and does their duty (which they do) on my lawn I don't go over there and tell them to clean it up. Actually it rarely happens.
