My daughter made me a Valentine using some toys and a balloon leftover from her surgery, stuff she took about an hour with last night and created all on her own. She wrote me a really sweet letter and taped it to the "jumble" of toys that she gave me. It said that she was thinking about how much she loved me and how funny I am and that she wanted me to have a great Valentine's Day! I about lost it when she gave it to me. But SHE also got teary eyed when I gave her HER card, and in her card, I wrote that she is my "best love ever" and I hoped she had a blast at her party today.

I was supposed to be taken out this coming weekend for Valentine's Day, dinner or something romantic like that (with a guy of course, a date-like thing) but I think I ruined that. I nagged my way out of getting free dinner because I kept complaining about his smoking around my daughter and I. Well the last straw came Sunday when he lit up with her in the car after I told him not to. She just had heart surgery a freaking month ago and I JUST had pneumonia in early January; so I told him no more smokes around us. Welp last straw came, I exploded and that was that.

So I gets nuthin from da guyfriend on Valentine's Day. Ah well. At least I made my point and I know I can't date smokers cuz I have a big mouth about it.

My date tonight? A beautiful 8 year old girl who is truly the best love ever (I meant that). We're gonna eat leftover pizza, chocolate fudge ice cream and watch Aladdin on the Disney Channel!!!!!!!

(with the cats nearby, of course)

Awww. You'll be hard pushed to find a better date than that

My V-day - we've raced around after the kids all day being their taxi service
. Hubby bought me the Cher CD I've been eyeing up since Christmas and a lovely card. Then tonight he cooked a lovely dinner. We've opened a bottle of wine and settled in for a quiet night (with our teenager! )

I don't think I'm getting much from my Husband but what I am doing for HIM is sensational...I hope;
I'm putting ribbon all over the house in a trail-like scheme. All along the ribbon will be love quotes I've printed out and some gifts that he's been wanting for a little while. The 2005 Nascar magazine that is $15 and the new Greg Iles novel. Sort of a murder mystery sort of Author. Then when he follows the trail back to the bedroom, he'll find me in nothing but ribbon and candy flavoured love notes written on my skin. Candles all around too.
Poor kitties will have to be locked up for a little while.

Mom and I are each other's Valentines today. She got me a chocolate heart and a big bag of navel oranges (which I love!) and I got her a bar of Belgian chocolate (with almonds) and a package of butter cookies (not expensive but hard to find these days).

However, it has not been the best day. Mom has a migraine and I've had bad cramps - and Jasper is nursing a sore leg (got into a fight when he went outside thursday).

Amen! Really! That's exactly what I think. People think that Eric and I might have alot of time together because he's home by 10 pm, but not at all. He's in law enforcement so when he comes home it's "relax and de-stress " and I'm off to bed. He is sleeping when I wake up, so we really have Sundays and that's it. So I made him a home-made card with our photos all pasted inside from everything we do, and then in white chalk like a little kid, wrote "E loves E". And put it on his pillow.
But TODAY! What a surprise! He rarely comes by my work and he did with 2 dozen tulips in all colors!!!! To deliver in person, the best of all!
I am a very lucky girl. And Sasha slept on the bed and Saba gave me a kiss with her little tiny nose.

Movin' on up!
I got a soft, floppy plush Dalmatian and a big box of chocolates. I gave Bill a NASCAR 3-D DVD.

Last week, I mailed a package, to the twins: cute little heart-printed outfits, stuffed tigers and candy. Sam doesn't like for them to have chocolate so, I sent Skittles!

My bf and I enjoyed a nice dinner of Linguine and Red Clam sauce and gave each other a card.
He also gave me money in my card since he knows I've never cared much for roses or chocolate. Sash got plenty of love for Valentine's Day as he does everyday.

Brendan cooked an AMAZING shrimp dish over pasta for me tonight. I still can't get over how great it was! Then he gave me a funny card, a box of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory chocolates, my favorite movie in the world The Notebook , a completely decadent caramel apple which is covered with a sugary confection on the outside of the caramel and then crushed oreo cookies on top of that, and a very romantic card. We also made chocolate fondue and dipped strawberries and bananas in it. It was a perfect day.

Under the cats, mostly.
Wow.... those gifts all sounds really wonderful. I feel a bit let down because my other half didn't bother. I'd only flown 1500 miles to spend half the day with him (I'd had to fly home on Valentines day - but I did have the weekend). I named a star for him... I chose to name a star "Skytsengel" (means Guardian Angel) in the constellation Hercules - because he is my guardian angel AND my hero. It was kinda pointless but very soppy. But no flowers, no chocolate... in fact, I was mopping up his and the cat's puke, cooking for the family, cleaning the apartment... while he lay in bed for the weekend. He stopped throwing up long enough to take me back to the airport on the Monday and took me to Burger King. Uber romantic. Man, I feel like such a grouch, but he could at least have thought..... even a little card would have shown *something*.
I almost feel cheated
