Ok...we have two kittens, one is 8 months (been with us 4) and the new one is 4. We have seperated them for a week and a half and gradually introduced them. Now they going from ignoring each other, to laying together, to playing, to hissing/fur fighting fights (sometimes with ears kinda back). Is this normal? Is it ok to leave them alone yet? I just want to know if they like or hate each other...we are getting mixed signals from them.

It's hard to tell by your description. I've had littermates who are best buds do the same things that you describe. The ears go back with perhaps a little hissing if one goes too far or plays too rough with the other. Kittens have a way of testing each other that adults can't get away with. I've also seen this as antagonism between 2 cats.

If in doubt, keep them separated when alone for a while longer. It is a very good sign that they are laying and playing together. You don't want them to have a bad experience when you aren't around or you could reverse any progress you've made thus far.

Are they both neutered? If not, that will certainly help!
