It's a dull, dark, dismal day in my part of the UK - snow has been forecast for about 5pm and there have been some flurries in the air. But in the garden - Spring is on the way. Here are some pictures:

Our Hellebore

Snowdrops under the Lilac tree

and finally...my little guardian angel who always hangs around to make sure I'm safe

Enjoy

What a beautiful garden you have, despite it may be covered with snow in a few hours!! It looks like your guardian angel is watching over the flowers very well!! I wish I had a place to plant a garden, but its hard in an apartment complex! Spring is almost here!!

Thanks Cheryl and Rita.

In the front garden, we have daffodils and siberian irises flowering under the Willow Tree, but I'd have to clear the twigs away first before I can photograph them
. We also have a lovely shocking pink Cyclamen that has been merrily flowering away all winter.

Wow, I'm a little jealous now. I probably won't see that for another month at best! I love that little yellow bell on her collar!

There are many signs of life in the garden here. It's called...SNOW MOLD
This is mold that grows under snow cover that has been there for a long time, which it has been, for 3 months now.

Snow mold - I have never heard of that before. I was looking forward to a bit of snow - but it's 5.10 and as the sun is setting the sky has cleared
so it looks life no snow for us...again. I appeciate you might think you can have too much of a good thing though!

aww never mind. I'll tidy up the daffodils and take some of those tomorrow - then you can have a virtual garden for the next month
.

Tippy's really happy that you like her little bell - the birdies love it too
. Tippy's been trying to figure out a way to get rid of it for ages!
Nasty meowmy spoils all her fun.

You get snow mold under the snow that has been there for a long time, like months. There has been a lot of snow here and it has been here since early december.

I love your garden. Will show the picture you had up here a while back, where you showed your entire garden? I love that picture.

No problem Hope. I still haven't scanned the "before" and "during" shots from when we renovated the garden - but I will get round to it - some time!!

We've got crocuses coming up - so today it really snowed, and it looks so weird. The weather has been so strange this year!

No problem Katherine.

Tricia - I saw the European weather report on Sky - it looks like you guys have got the snow really bad. We still haven't got any here - but I don't think we're clear of the possibility yet.

Lovely garden Beth!

Rosie and Sophie have a huge blossom tree outside their bedroom window and just the other week i noticed there were buds on it!

I think weve done well without snow this winter. February is usually a bad month for snow so fingers crossed it keeps away like it has!.

Beth who's your gorgeous guardian angel?!

Oh I LOVE blossom trees - we've put cherry trees in the new part of the garden - blossom in spring, cherries in summer

We're supposed to have snow today/tomorrow.

My guardian angel is Tippy - she's our oldest girl and will be 9 this year.

Fwan:

The big flowers are called Hellebores - sometimes called Christmas roses, although it depends on the variety as to when they flower. The little white ones are called Snowdrops and grow every year from bulbs.

Hehe - that's what I like to hear a triple value tree - pretty blossoms, a good feed for the birds and birdie TV for the kitties. Perfect
