We too have Monty Python (BBC series and all the movies). Have seen Faulty Towers (public TV in Chicago years ago). Have some Rocky and Bullwinkle, George of the Jungle.

But best of all, got the 3rd and final season for a Valentine's day present today: Soap. Does anyone remember this from the 1970's? I absolutely love that show! We watched a couple episodes tonight.

Wasn't "Soap" with Billy Crystal? Or am I thinking of another series?

That would be the one. It may have been Billy Crystal's TV debute where he played a gay man having an affair with a football player. It was a general spoof on daytime soaps. The show Benson was a spinoff of this show.

It's the story of 2 sisters, Jessica Tate and Mary Campbell. The scenes with the women cracked me up. In one that I watched last night, they were throwing a wedding shower for Carol, who was to marry Jody (Billy Crystal). Jessica makes a toast that the couple is as happy as the rest of them, then realizes that:

Jessica's husband has brain damage and thinks he is Marlena Dietrich.
Corrine is married to an ex-priest who is unemployed and depressed, and she is pregnant with a demon.
Carol, also pregnant, is marrying a gay man.
Eunice is having an affair with an escaped murderer.
Mary's husband, who used to think he was invisible is having an affair.
Mary's son was forced to marry his wife at gunpoint.

The stories are so bizarre they are hysterical!

That's the series I remember, then. It was hysterical. What I'd love to get (also from the 70s) is "Hill Street Blues". I loved that series.
