Hi everyone,

I had asked this question at the bottom of my last post in regard to my granny cat, but as it might get over looked there, Im posting it again.

The ones that respond to my posts on a regular basis know the situation at my house in regard to my husbands opposition to cats being in the house.

Its so very could out tonight (around 28) and I wanted to ask the question is it possible for me to bring them kittens in and keep them overnight in a car carrier.
My husband wouldnt allow I know the momma to come in, and besides that she is so wild she would probably go nuts in here.

Im thinking the kittens need to be with there momma because being so young they eat every few hours, right??

Ive covered them up real well again tonight with blankets in the bottom of the box and a chair with rugs laying over the top of the box. They are kept out of the air pretty much, but its still cold....and Im concerned.

Last night I even dreamed about finding a baby under some leaves that was abandoned yet still alive....a combination I think of being so concerned for those kittens and too much CSI....

Unless you can take all of them inside (including mom) I believe these kittens should stay with mom...but I'd suggest PMing Hissy. Does mom have a shelter??

Unless you can bring mom in the house, don't separate this family. Once your smell gets on the kittens, mom can reject them, plus she will go nuts being without them. Your best bet is to bring them all inside, but if you can't stand up to your husband, then please just leave them be. She knows cold weather is coming, and you can help her out by providing her with straw where she is nesting for warmth, and making sure she has food and fresh water nearby so she doesn't have to leave her babies. If she abandons a baby away from her nest, it is because the kitten is ill and dying. Mom cats sense these things and will sacrifice the weak to predators to keep the rest of the family safe- it is sad, but it is nature's way.

Can someone please advise me? I went outside tonight to check in the box where the kittens were...THEY WERE GONE ! The momma I thought was gone too, but she appeared a few minutes after....

My husband was right here with me in the computer room all night, so I know he didnt take them. I questioned him when I saw they were missing and he said maybe the mama moved them...

Would a mama cat move her kittens like that??

Any time you disturb a mom cat outside and her litter she will move them, She moves them because she percieves you as a threat. You will not be able to find them unless you are very lucky.

Also if you keep your posts together within the same thread, the story is easier to follow for members. I have merged your threads

I think what most likely caused her to move them was my brother in laws puppy. I saw her today take a swat at him. Knowing her like I do, she will be very easy to spot since she never misses the call for breakfast for dinner

True to form the ole' granny cat was right at the door at breakfast time, and you couldnt help but hear the little kittens mews. Seems granny decided to place them under the porch of the trailer next door, instead of under the church here.

We still have that oppossum around as my husband saw it the night before. I suppose between that oppossum and the puppy she felt more secure with them there.
