I think cloning of any kind is unnatural. I can honestly say that I would never have any of my pets cloned. I don't understand why anyone would want to. The pet will not have the same personality and may not even look the same.

It's great that there are enough citizens out there willing to make a positive difference on behalf of animals! The "no declawing allowed" ban in several communities is a big step forward, too! In 2000, when I was in San Clemente, animal rights activists were also trying to get a ban on jogging dogs on pavement or concrete. It damages the dog's joints, and being loyal companions (and pack animals), they will participate despite great pain. Many vets agree, and I wonder why more dog owners aren't aware.

That's true, and also it's just horrible to do that!!! I heard cloned pets don't even live that long. That is beside the point though, people need to stop trying to play the role of God. We were never meant to mess with these kind of things.

Very interesting, considering one of the reasons for the ban is the number of animals waiting for adoption in shelters.
I agree with this bill. There are too many cats in shelters that need homes. Paying $50,000 for a cat seems dumb. I say if you reallly have that kind of money doanate it to pet shelter.

I hope someday we can easily clone pets perfectly and people also. If my liver goes bad I would love to have them clone me a new one, or maybe I would loose an eye in an accident and be able to get one from a clone bank.. come on, loosen up!
Everyone should have at least one or two clones on cold storage incase they loose a vital organ and same could be true for pets.

It has potential for good and bad. This one women paid a lot of money to clone her cat who she had for 20 years. I can understand why she would want to do that, but you have to let go sometime, people and pets die. That's the way life is. If your pet dies go to the pound and look into adopting a new kitty or puppy.
